Meet and Greet and eat some pie

The restaurant was closed for a private political meet and greet ... I was greeted immediately by a hostess who took my drink order and encouraged to select a piece of pie from the tables ladened with a fair sampling of some of the best pies in Irving. What's not to like? LOL

Although it's in an unassuming strip mall off of HWY 183 and O'Connor, it's worth a visit. Very friendly and caring staff serves freshly made home cooking. On the rare occasion I haven't been pleased, they quickly offer to remedy the situation. Great vegetable and salad side dishes accompany standards like chicken fried steak, meatloaf, and liver and onions. Save... More

Ok the omelets weren't bad, but grits were like soup. The biscuits weren't even warm and neither was the gravy. I probably won't be going back there.

Although this café looks rather unassuming from the outside, don't be put off. Inside the welcome was friendly and the breakfast plentiful and tasty. It's a popular and pleasant café with a relaxing atmosphere.

Great family restaurant. You are treated like family as if you just sat at the table at someone's home. Wait staff is sweet and helpful. Everything is priced affordable. Good quality of food. Comfort food. Great for families, couples, business people or solo as you will be waited on and cared for like family. If you have a food allergy,... More

Daily specials with different veggies. Service is great. Food above average. Don't forget to get a piece of pie.

Word of mouth among current and former Irving residents is very good. This place was truly full of locals, which is always a good sign. We went for breakfast at 9:30 on a Monday morning and during our hour-long stay, PJ's had a steady stream of wonderful retired folks. So they must know this place is good. Maybe my hesitation... Lots of locals. Juanita was our waitress and she was super sweet, and very helpful. The food was perfect. Not too much, not too little and the price was awesome. Would come back for sure.

Homecooking at its best. Comfy feel and always fresh cooked good. Daily specials but they do have some good regular dishes every day. Pea salad ...yum Pies are wonderful and truly an enjoyable place. Service slow. But don't let that stop you from going. Worth the trip! Value is great!

This is a small family owned restaurant. The food is great. The service is second to none. The waitstaff remembers most names and faces. The lunch specials are great. I would recommend it to anyone. If you have an hour for lunch you can get in, out, and back to work on time.
