About every 5 or 6 weeks I must travel for work-related purposes that route me through Irving, Texas, where my cousin has lived for several years. While together and catching up with each other we always enjoy Chinese cuisine and the Empress of China is most convenient. Friendly, fast and agreeable the service is always good and no reservations ever... More

Excellent Chinese food. Avoid the King Buffet opposite, this is the real deal. Only complaint is that my prawns were over cooked, but that aside the food is delicious. And I would advise any expats in the area from Britain, to try the Canton Curry - just like your take-out after a few too many. Wish it was in my... More

This is one of the few restaurants that will deliver Chinese food to my office, so we order from here every few months. The food is just okay. I like the hot and sour soup, and think the Hunan chicken and jalapeno chicken are decent; my colleague likes the fried rice. The Mongolian beef, which I adore at another chain... More

That place has been there since forever. It caught my eyes one day. I was really surprised by the the quality of the food.

I found this restaurant last visit via a Google search (I live out of the area) for Chinese restaurants near my hotel, and was very impressed. This was my second visit to the restaurant, and was again very impressed with the food, atmosphere, and excellent service. I tried their Schezuan style stir fried scallops with sliced beans and carrots with... More

We had been going to this place throughout the years, it was acceptable before but recently, they have gone downhill...I ordered beef with broccoli for lunch and the beef was dry, hard, and tough. Basically, it was obvious they saved the leftover beef dish from the day before by refrying it. I was stupid to give them a second chance... More

We've been eating here for over ten years and have never found a Chinese food restaurant we like better. The service is always good, prices are quite reasonable. The sesame chicken is unbelievably delicious and we love the crab rangoon. All the bar drinks seem to taste the same, kinda have a grapefruity flavor, but they are tasty and VERY... More

Over the course of the last three decades, it seems to me that the overall quality of Chinese food in the Dallas area has declined as fast as the number of strip-center restaurants has exploded. The trend has been toward the big all-you-can-eat buffets, which have been found to include such Chinese delicacies as pizza. (Apparently they're trying to lure... More

This restaurant has been one of our regular stops for about four years. The food is tastey, the service is excellent, and the price is right!

Empress has been a favorite place of mine for about five years. In recent years, the food quality is not what it once was when I first began visiting their place. However, I can still strongly recommend it to anyone who wants good, freshly prepared Chinese food. The place is cozy: six booths against the far wall, each illuminated with... More
