Good lunch spot

A co worker told me about po Melvin's I decided to try it. I had the gumbo for starters and I was very good. Then I decided I would try the chicken fried steak. The menu claimed it was the best in Texas. I should have know that was wrong. It was ok but defiantly not the best. I would... read more

Went there for my first time in many years, with 4 folks who go there a lot. So we sampled various items. The fried shrimp and meat pie - both appetizers - was very good. Fresh tasting, and not greasy. Their plate lunches seem to be healthy portions, and the roast beef was a big hit with one of my... More

We picked this place from some app for local dining. We stopped in on a Sunday. Its buffet only (at least on a Sunday morning). There were a LOT OF OPTIONS. They were all fresh and they had a chef for omelettes. Its in a mall so plenty of parking. Good price, we were happy with our choice. They have... More

Very southern ambiance, food better than Mother's in NOLA. Seafood tasted fresh. Seasoning was perfect.

My wife suggested I go here for dinner. Great southern cooking, excellent hospitality and great big glasses of Shinerbock beer! I had the chicken fried steak, red beans & rice, and greenbeans (w/ bacon). OMG it was awesome! Highly recommended if in the area. The cornbread looked awesome, wish I had gotten some of that. The restaurant is located in... More

This is my husband's favorite place-to-go! He loves the cornbread and we always get the roast beef lunch! It is amazing! They have seafood and gumbo and lots of other great dishes but we can never get enough of the roast beef. A great side dish is the greens, they are great. It is a great family place too.

Good breakfast buffet at reasonable price. This was recommended by our hotel front desk as a good local place and we enjoyed it.

This is a great spot in Irving/Los Colinas that while here for years continues to evolve without loosing its DNA. If you haven't been here in awhile there is no smoking now. They have working hard at updating their look and yet the food is as comfortable as comfort can be. I have a hard time not eating pork chops... More
