Fake Buttercream Icing

You'd think when you go to a "real" bakery, you'd get the "real deal" product. But no, as gorgeous as the cupcakes appear, that's not true buttercream icing. Instead, it's the nasty Crisco-like substitute (I asked and though difficult for the counter guy to admit, he succumbed; but quickly noted... read more

I have been ordering cakes from Texas Star for almost ten years. I have always felt that their cakes were excellent and that the rest of their items were average. It’s the cakes that kept me coming back. Unfortunately, due to a recent experience, I will not be returning. Since they were my favorite bakery, I decided to use them... More

This bakery has truly homemade tasting products. Moist and delicious not the dry box thing. The service was wonderful also.

Went to order a cake. Person working the counter couldn't have cared less that I was there. Didn't bother to talk to me until I pestered them and even then they made me wait. Should have left right that minute. Finally got to order a quarter sheet in the shape of a football for my boyfriend's birthday. About 20 minutes... More

Texas Star always delivers! The cakes are moist, the icing is perfect, and they always do a great job on whatever design request I come up with. We've done quarter, half and full sheet cakes from them. Our favorite is the strawberry cake. They also offer a nice selection of to-go snacks like cupcakes, cookies, and more up front. They... I ordered a cake by phone for a girl's 3rd birthday with a Hello Kitty puff picture. Everything went well up until the day I picked it up. I was in a rush and they could not find the cake. It took almost 10 minutes for them to locate it and by then I had 20 people just about on... More

This little shop on the corner of Hurstview and Harwood excels in making people happy. The breads are chockful of goodness, the cupcakes come in many flavors-lemon, carrot, red velvet. The cakes are not only pretty to the eye but they are amazing to the mouth! The German chocolate was a mile high, dense, rich, and every bite was worth... More

Ordered two previous cakes, no problem. But, ordered a cake 6 weeks before for a bridal shower on Sunday 9/29/13, called at 8am Saturday and they obviously did not have the cake, but said it would be ready at 2:00. Sent my mother to pick it up, she told them the bow was too small, but took the cake. When... More

My duaghter had her 10 year bithday this past Jan. She wanted a Paris themed party with an Eiffel Tower cake. Not A sheet cake, a 3D Cake! Placing the order was so easy and the guy helping me knew exactly what I wanted and was able to do it. The even more amazing part, the price!!! I was afraid... More

I have never been disappointed with anything I have bought from this bakery! I have been a customer for over 5 years and everything is always fresh, moist, and very tasty. My only complaint is they close at 5 pm which makes it difficult to get there after work but other than that it's an awesome bakery!
