I know, you want authentic Mexican, but trust me, foodies all know, Tex-Mex is better, and 1308 is a routine Tex-Mex establishment, from the chips and salsa to the cheese encheladas.

When I used to live full time in Houston we would go once a week. Now that I am only back in town 4 times a year, I always have to bring my family and friends here. The brisket is great and the pescado. I love the shrimp and crab pescado ala plancha, but don't forget the big platters for... More

I can not stop eating here. Might be the best Tex-Mex I have ever had (and I have consumed a lot of Tex-Mex). The place, quiet and intimate. The staff, friendly. The margaritas, FLAWLESS! I begin with Queso Joey with ground beef. The chips and salsas (red and green) are amazing. I love their quesadilla lunch with beans and rice.... More

The food here is good and well made. The portions are smaller than most Mexican restaurants, which doesn't bother me. The margaritas were good and not too sweet. Our server was very kind and attentive.

Wonderful; huge portions can be busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Huge selection of dishes all fresh. Slightly higer priced than most Mexican places but you will have enough to take home for another meal easily.

Don't know what they put in the skinny margaritas, but damn! Food's always good and they get to know their regular customers, so we'll keep going back!

This is one of the places I eat at once or more a week.. The Mexican Food is great. I like the Breakfast that can be ordered till 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. Has 2 patios and the crowds are fun and lively..They have several locations but this is my choice now... Try their Ribs and Sausage ... Very good.

El tiempo has my favorite Mexican food in Houston. Have tried two of their locations and both are excellent

On a recent work trip to Houston, the customer highly recommended 1308 Cantina. I had seen it the night before and kept on going. I went there for lunch and was kicking myself for having passed up the opportunity to eat there the previous evening! I had the Shrimp Enchilado Lunch Plate with the Marisco Cream Salsa. Our (wonderful) server... More

Have been a fan of 1308 for years but the last few times there have been a disappointment. The food was unremarkable at best and service chaotic. The wine I ordered had "gone around the bend" some time ago, but they refused to take it off the bill. Definitely this place is a scene. Perhaps it would be best just... More
