I selected this place for a business lunch. I wasn't too concerned about prices going in based on the menu I had seen earlier so my colleague and I ordered the lunch special. It was described by the waitress without a price and I admit I should have asked. Then she said it came with a side salad and offered... More

Being from Houston, we have always driven by the huge statue on the side of Beltway 8. On the way home from the airport we decided to try it out. Awesome steaks, awesome shrimp. Looks like a museum on the inside with a lot of neat history memorabilia. The owner even came out and visited tables. Very nice.

Very elegant historical setting. Lots of antique pieces from days gone by, it almost qualifies as a museum. Great Menu, great food, I hope your hungry because the servings are huge. Very classy place for very hard to please clients. This is like travelling first class, bring your Platinum card with you, as you know what travelling first class means.... More

Yes, an expense account, please, for the fantabulous dinner you want to order and indulge in. The drinks were nicely, surprisingly strong! Steak is king here, and waitstaff seemed genuinely knowledgeable and helpful in explaining various cuts of meat. Do take the time to appreciate all the Texas historical artifacts and paintings. Its location - oddly alone, with its ample... More

Not realizing just how busy they get during the lunch hour, a friend and I met here at noon. It was a 30 minute wait for the dining room so we went to the bar area and were seated right away. Food is good and came out quickly. We both had the chicken tender salad...I would order this again. Price... More

Realizing that this is more or less a steakhouse, my title is a bit tongue and cheek, but not really. I went there this week for a business lunch and ordered the "Lunch Steak" which on the menu was a sirloin. When I ordered it, the waiter said that they now have a ribeye not a sirloin, which was fine.... More

Full of Alamo and Texas history, the restaurant is very good and food is excellent. This trip I had the crab cakes and Cesar salad both of which were very enjoyable. The steaks are good too and the servers always pretty jolly. The place is always busy which is a testament to the the good food. Be ready to line... More

very interesting building, the decor based on The Alamo artifacts. You could spend hours just looking at the pictures & reading the various information covering the walls. Main thing tho is the food, Fillet Mignon undoubtably one of the best I have ever eaten. This, along with the first class service, will make a return visit a must next time... More

I have not been here for a few months but I was surprised by the makeover. Externally, nothing has changed, and plenty of parking. Internally, the main dining area has been painted maroon, and by doing that, the room is much darker, and that in turn means that in some areas, reading the menu is a challenge. I had to... More

This is a great spot for Texas history buffs and has a wonderful menu. We were regulars for years, but feel that the service is really slipping. Our friends had their steak over cooked. The bar staff was rude the last time we were there and wait staff is generally less attentive than it was in the past. This is... More
