This is a great spot for Texas history buffs and has a wonderful menu. We were regulars for years, but feel that the service is really slipping. Our friends had their steak over cooked. The bar staff was rude the last time we were there and wait staff is generally less attentive than it was in the past. This is... More

My husband and I had dinner at Steamboat House with friends we hadn't seen in some time. The food was excellent and the service was great - attentive, but low-key enough to allow us to have a conversation without constant interruption. The décor was subdued and comfortable, with so many historic pictures and items to appreciate on our way into... More

Had a business lunch with an associate. We ate at the bar. Both of us ordered burgers and they came exactly as ordered. Service at the bar was excellent. I found it to be much faster than the last time I actually ate in the restaurant itself.

Awesome Valentine's celebration! Blackened mahi mahi over a bed of rice & fried asparagus ---beautiful plate presentation! We have dined here several times, and can tell you service is superb! The chocolate covered strawberries were a great touch to the evening & serving champagne while we waited for our table👍

Our first trip to this restaurant, primarily a steak place. Not inexpensive but I gather steak prices have risen substantially due to the drought and cattle sell offs. Tables are well separated and ceilings are very high, so it is easy to have a conversation. The restaurant is a tribute to Texas history. Anyone with an interest in it will... More

visited with a party of 6. They cooked 5 of the steaks incorrectly. To be fair they did recook 2, but for $45 a steak this should be a lot better. The staff seemed to have little idea what a medium rare steak should look like, even though they were obviously well done. Nice surroundings, but probably the worst meal... More

After having dinner there with friends we went to the bar to have a cocktail. From the minute we walked in the service was horrible and it took forever to get a drink. After asking to talk to a manager we received a very rude response from the bartender. When the manager came out he said we were being cut... More

Nothing really I can fault this place for . Great service, fantastic character, full of interesting Texan history, impressive menu and hands down the best prime rib I ever tasted. Will definitely be making a return visit!
