Just simply awesome and beautiful food. Lots of awards on the wall so I guess we didn't discover it. Food was perfect. Small and simple but food awesome. See you wednesday.

Had diner in Himalaya, in the Houston Indian area. The place looked poor, very basic. But I was told the food was good, so I could see through the basics of the ambiance. Well, the place was really terrible, the waiter had an attitude to serve, and the owner behind the bar acted very rude to several people in the... More

Small, very casual atmosphere in a strip mall next to Southwest Freeway with at least 3 other Indian restaurants. Very Basic decor with drab walls. You occasionally may share your table with others outside your party. The service is quietly efficient and pleasant.. I have had the same waiter every visit (over 20 times).. The gruff appearing owner is always... More

Himalaya turned out to be a surprisingly good Indian cuisine restaurant! The food is generally good and quite close to authentic... but the Biryani is outstanding! nearly as good as you would get in India.

We went to Himalaya recently with family for the first time because we heard their food is very good. The food was nothing out of the world, but decent. What ticked us off was that the manager or owner (an older guy with a belly - sorry, don't mean to be mean, but don't know how else to describe him)... More

Himalaya made the local news recently because of rodent droppings, food being stored at improper temperature, equipment and utensils being stored in unclean conditions, and other unclean kitchen conditions. Two of the six violations were repeat violations. See the Health Department's full report online dated February 12, 2014 or in "photos.".

I'd read about this restaurant online, and almost all the reviews were favorable to excellent, so I gave it a try. The hardest part was deciding what to eat. Kabobs are a big part of the menu, but so are lamb and goat curries. I finally went with the lamb shank braised in a brown curry, and it was very... More

The owner Kaiser is the worst kind of scumbag. Does not split checks...gives dirty looks and hurls racist and rude abuses when you do not order what he deems as enough food for the table. Extremely rude and hostile behavior. The place itself is rank dirty ... please avoid this place. This racist and rude owner does not deserve our... More
