Delicious Indian food served in elegant surroundings

We went with friends for dinner to celebrate a birthday. The food was very tasty and the Chicken Tikka Masala, Prawns and Okra were especially good. The servings are not large so be advised. The Nann was good but not incredible. Service was very nice, waiter did not know how to pour beer so be... read more

If you enjoy an authentic British high tea, this is the place to come- every Saturday. Last Saturday was the Mother's Day Tea- something the girls in my family do every year for my Mom. Think of British India with white tablecloths, crystal, china and the best Chai tea you have ever tasted! It's a fabulous 4 course tea- starting... More

My family loved this restaurant! This place has excellent food and service. We weren't sure if we were dressed properly as we had just come from a full day of shopping. There are two separate seating areas, one looks a bit more formal and the other a bit more family friendly with large booths. We did not have a reservation... More

Having heard kind words from many friends, we finally decided to see for ourselves. And we were not disappointed! A real, British colonial feel to the entry and greeting, the food takes on the rue flavors of a modern India. Well-done naan, awesome lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka (we did dine with Brits, after all), and tandoori chicken. Really satsifying... More

Absolutely a surprise to find such delicious Indian food in Houston! I was visiting a customer for a day and he thought I would appreciate the place. No strong spices, and food not leaving us panting for water. :-) Very delicately made dishes with a lot of thought and mild twists. A must go.

Having spent a lot of time in India and the Middle East, I have had the opportunity to have what I considered to be excellent Indian cuisine. But I cannot think of a total Indian dining experience I have enjoyed more than dinner at Kiran's on Westheimer in Houston. Whenever I'm in Houston, with all its wonderful restaurants, it's really... We live in the SF Bay Area in a region with a high Indian population, but there aren't many good Indian options nearby. While on a weekend trip to Houston, we went to Kiran's twice. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was nice. So many of the Indian restaurants are divy, so it is nice to find one... More

Being down in a Houston for business I thought I'd make the slight detour from my Downtown hotel to re-sample the delights on offer at this great Indian restaurant which I'd last been in about 6 months ago. I'm sure glad I decided to make the journey albeit without my usual food tasting partner-in-crime. I sat at the bar and... More

This remains my favorite restaurant in Texas. When a discussion starts with friends about where to eat, I always suggest Kiran's. The results have been consistent: those who swear they don't like Indian food fall in love with Kiran's. Service is impeccable, and prices more than fair for the quality and originality of the food.

My wife had a birthday party here - what a great gathering for a special occasion. The restaurant has a seated tea from 2-4PM on Saturdays. The teas were delicious, and the food went well with them (and were quite filling). I used to visit Kiran when she was at Ashiana's many years ago and look forward to dining at... More
