Great place for food and dessert

I think we panicked them a bit when we walked in at 9:00 on a Friday night with 26 people. However, they seated us quickly and made us feel welcome. The food is wonderful. It had been 4 years since I had been there and it was everything I remembered it to be. Great food and even better pie. Bayou... read more

First, The food and the pies are great. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go back. My husband is in a wheelchair and when we tried to go today, the only seating available was booths. There is an entire section of the restaurant that has tables but that section was closed. A person who is wheelchair dependent is not able... More

Good food, lively atmosphere, mixed crowd and sassy (yep polite) servers. The menu is extensive but at 2 am everything sounds good. Just go!

Only stopped in to take out three pieces of pie for family. Wow what a selection ! We got strawberry rhubarb, pecan, and lemon meringue. All were fantastic. ! Service was fast and friendly. A really neat place and concept.

If you are from the Houston area it is the law that you have to eat here when you go home to visit. I started going there when I was in high school. Now I'm in my late 30's, and no longer live there. The coffee and Bayou Goo make me feel like I'm a kid again.

The food here is excellent diner fare and I eat here quite often. Thank goodness the fire did not wipe out this local landmark. But you really should be coming here for the pies. I have not had a bad one yet and still working my way thru the menu. If you're in the area, take time out for some... More

Great food. Patty melt on herb bread is my fav. Does breakfast all day, too. Really good food, reasonable prices and generous servings. Full service restaurant as well as lots of varieties of fresh homemade type pies. A Houston tradition. Don't miss this!

Wow. From the perfect 1960s decor to the menu, the service, the other clientele - this gorgeous and well-established restaurant is the genuine article and we loved it. And that was even before the food came out! We were on our way to a Rockets game so needed to eat early, and didn't want anything too heavy. Plus of course... More

We went to the place just for the pies, heard so much good things about the pies. We were not disappointed. I had the strawberry cheese cake, and we loved it. We bought one whole cake and brought it with us back to Corpus Christi, one whole pie just less than $20! so good and the price is cheap. The... More

Packed for breakfast. Wait time was reasonable. I agree with their slogan - "Heaven on Earth." Service is very good once seated. Order was slow coming out, but it was packed. Breakfast was very good. Need to go back sometime for lunch and dinner. Pretty full after breakfast, but still had to try some pie. The only problem you will... More
