Great food but msleading wait staff

I had a business meal here at the recommendation of business associates. Simply put, the food was good and service was not. Pappadeaux is a staple in Houston, supposedly offering consistently good food. Food was definitely very good and comes in large portions. However, the wait staff seems... read more

We met friends at Pappadeaux rather late on a week night, and even though we did not have reservations, we were quickly seated and offered drinks and appetizers. The waiter was very attentive and helpful with suggestions for our meal. We had the baked cod with fresh crab, which came with a side of broccoli and the grilled salmon with... More

Everything was fantastic, and my 2.5lb lobster was cooked beautifully. I will definitely go back on my next visit. So the only reason for a 4 and not a 5 was that it did take 35 minutes to get my dinner after order, and I was alone and the restaurant was only about 30% full.

Martin, the General Manager, made us very welcome as we arrived to celebrate the graduation. Decorated the private dining room with ballooons and the the staff were attentive. The food was delicious!

Service was slow. Redfish was tasteless..more rice on the plate than fish. Almost no crab. Shrimp was ok. Fried shrimp player wasn't bad..but nut impressive. Had a dozen oysters. They were fresh, but you couldn't tell what body of water they were from. French fries in one side dish were probably frozen...I've had much better. All in all, a very... More

We usually don't splurge on lunch!! Soft shell crab was pretty dang good. Wife had the Texas Redfish Ponchetrain, it was really good. Ready to go fishing so she can replicate the recipe!! Pappadeaux has always been a little pricey and the last few time we haven't been impressed, but this trip was good! Excellent food and the service was... More

This joint is my absolute favourite not just in Houston but overall. Quality is not constant but this is not a surprise to any seafood lover. Sometimes the one at the airport has fresher ingredients. A dozen gulf oyster is under a tenner Mon-Thur and the Blackened Missisipi Catfish Opelousas are always to die for.

This used to be my favourite restaurant in Houston but sadly not any more. I visited the restaurant on Westhiemer near the Galleria and was very disappointed. Poor service and cold food that had to be returned. This is not the first time this has happened to me in this restaurant so it was not a "one off". I really... More

I love seafood restaurants even though I don't eat seafood. There were very little non seafood options, but the website there were plenty. I guess different Pappadeaux's offer more or less options. The food was so-so, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. The red beans & rice were ehh, overly seasoned, & not in a tasty way. The steak... More

Went in for early dinner. Busy at bar, service initially was a bit slow. Happy hour beers are ok, for beer just Shiner or Bud Light, $4.95 in a schooner. Had seafood gumbo, peel and eats that were good. I ordered one Costa Rican Mahi dish and got another one that had chili crab sauce on it, and acorn squash.... More
