We picked Sorrento for our anniversary brunch. Lovely decor, not too crowded and fantastic attentive staff. The piano player was a great addition. Everyone's meal starts out with your choices from a beautiful selection of breads and muffins...all delicious. For entrees, I had the frittata with goat cheese and basil and hubby had crab cakes Benedict. Delicious and wonderful presentation.... More

Seated 1 hour after reservation and then waited 15 or so minutes for a cocktail / wine request. Appetizers served by unknowing staff who asked "who ordered what"? Similar service at main course. A shame the food (actually quite good) could not offset the shoddy service. There are too many stores in Houston at this price point that care about... More

I just realized that I have never reviewed this restaurant, even though they are our "go-to" place. Wonderful place for dinner, very nice ambience, great for a romantic dinner. Excellent food, excellent service. When we want a really nice meal with no surprises, this is our pick. Lovely breads, best fish preparation I have had in this town, very good... More

Last night, the wife and I dined at Sorrento for the first time as a couple; I've been there several times for work related meals, and had never been quite as impressed. But, at 4 pm yesterday, I decided that we needed to go out on a "date", and I was pleasantly surprised that I could make a reservation at... More

Recently visited this Houston gourmet restaurant and found it to be an outstanding choice. Their menu is very Italian with each menu choice being superbly done. We ordered their escargot and beef carpaccio for appetizers which were exceptional. I ordered a special of the evening which was a tomahawk bone in ribeye which was enormous and enormously tasteful and perfectly... More

The crab cake is so different and not what I expected but it was delicious and light. I also had the osso bucco ravioli which are to die for. You can definitely tell the pasta is homemade and fresh. Will definitely be going back. Specialty drinks are delicious as well!

We live in The Woodlands and only drive into Houston occasionally for a change of pace and to explore new dining options. We met another couple at Sorrento on their recommendation, and we couldn't have had a better experience for a dinner out. The menu selections were outstanding - we had trouble deciding because everything sounded so good. We ordered... More

Vallet parking, very formal traditional restaurant, with excellent food and outstanding service. Smaller dining areas each with it's own charm and atmosphere. Type of place where the waitstaff place your napkin for you and the bread is delivered by a special "bread" server. The Tuscan Bean soup had enormous flavor and was not too much before a meal. The Duck... More

We dine out a lot and its usually at the higher end restaurants. I can honestly say that the quality of the food and the above and beyond service makes Sorrento's one of Houston's finest Italian (or any other) food places to eat. I could go on and on about how great the food is...and it is but truly great... More

Visiting family in Houston. We went to the Sorrento's for a Sunday brunch. Our family member was greeted at the door by name and we were seated at her requested table. The service is friendly and helpful but not rushed. The atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy. Meal started with a wonderful bread tray, my wife enjoyed the mimosa's and I... More
