We live in The Woodlands and only drive into Houston occasionally for a change of pace and to explore new dining options. We met another couple at Sorrento on their recommendation, and we couldn't have had a better experience for a dinner out. The menu selections were outstanding - we had trouble deciding because everything sounded so good. We ordered... More

Vallet parking, very formal traditional restaurant, with excellent food and outstanding service. Smaller dining areas each with it's own charm and atmosphere. Type of place where the waitstaff place your napkin for you and the bread is delivered by a special "bread" server. The Tuscan Bean soup had enormous flavor and was not too much before a meal. The Duck... More

We dine out a lot and its usually at the higher end restaurants. I can honestly say that the quality of the food and the above and beyond service makes Sorrento's one of Houston's finest Italian (or any other) food places to eat. I could go on and on about how great the food is...and it is but truly great... More

Visiting family in Houston. We went to the Sorrento's for a Sunday brunch. Our family member was greeted at the door by name and we were seated at her requested table. The service is friendly and helpful but not rushed. The atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy. Meal started with a wonderful bread tray, my wife enjoyed the mimosa's and I... More

A group of us went to Sorrento for a birthday dinner. The service was very good since we had the private wine room. The appetizers were good but the main dinner was not. The Chilean Seabass was very fishy for all of the those that ordered it. Because it was a dinner party we did not return the meal but... More

Hubby took me here for Valentine's Day, and it was a lovely experience. We had the 3- course tasting menu, which was served at a leisurely pace. Favorite choices were the minestrone with lentils and the pressed chicken entree. The little chocolate souffle was outstanding. Wonderful bread selection, too. Good service, and the red rose for each lady was a... More

we love Sorrento for the decor, service and the wonderful bread basket and the charming piano music; but the chef has gone off the rails on us for our taste--too many overkill sauces and way too much for a palettte to absorb-my foie gras was loaded with roquefort-both assertive and not friendly: too rich and competing for dominance.. There are... More

Had dinner at Sorrento last night. I love this place-- great food and a quiet atmosphere where you can actually hear what your dinner companions are saying without having to read lips. We had a lovely table in front of the fireplace. We dined to live piano music that added just the right feel. The food was true Italian and... More

The ambiance of the restaurant is great, our food was good but not to die for. We arrived early and decided to seat at the bar…. it took the bartender almost 10 minutes to pay attention to us. Obviously he was very busy, but then they need to get him some help. He had ZERO personality, no smile, no nothing.... More

Nice place for good tasting food. I had the squash almond soup which was great and short rib that did melt in my mouth. Low lighting can make it a date night. Good options on less expensive to (12 dollars glass) very expensive wine.
