Everybody loves an original, and you're not likely to find too many things more original than this. It would be an understatement to call the Goode Company Barbeque on Kirby a Houston institution. It's a tradition that has stood the test of time.

texas barbeque experience

My first texas barbeque experience. The atmosphere is very casual, but interesting. The smoker-wood stacked outside lends charm. The tables outside are picnic style. The service is cafeteria style. Ihe meat was tender and smokey, not overly seasoned, and the sauce complimented it well. The cheese... read more

I had to almost literally pass through Houston on business and took the opportunity to try the BBQ at Goode's and it was definitely worth the trip. The briskett, ribs, and pulled pork were all excellent and I thought a great example of what you hear is the Texas flavor pulled out by the meat and the excellent seasoning. The... More

Goode Company has been serving BarBQue to Houstonians for generations. The meats they serve are delicious and the side dishes are very tasty. Have a turkey sandwich on jalapeno bread! Delicious!

Excellent BBQ ... good sauce ... portions, however, could be a little larger. Hands down best pecan pie period !

My colleagues and I took a break from the Downtown Houston eateries and made our way to Goode Company for a simple Texas barbecue dinner. We were not disappointed. We asked some of the "locals" in line ahead of us for recommendations: BBQ brisket, pork ribs and baked beans were a must. I added a side of potato salad for... More

I know my local friends are always suggesting nicer BBQ places in Houston but I think they just don't like the lack of AC at Goode Co because many of them cater their events using their food! If I arrive in Houston on an afternoon flight, I head straight for Goode Co and enjoy sitting outdoors with my delicious rib... More

Stopped here leaving Houston and we were starving. Figured we would give it a try, how I wish we had chosen the Mcd's instead. Let me start with, born and raised in Tx, and this was the driest brisket I've ever had. Didnt even finish it. Potato salad was okay. Jalapeño bread was probably the best thing I had there.... More

This place was my first introduction into the Texas BBQ scene, I have since come back home to Brisbane and brought my own smoker. The food was amazing and cheap, make sure you get there early though as there is normally a line up each day.

5/6/2015 My husband was in the mood for BBQ and Gaitlin's was closed. We drove from F-A-R north Houston to Kirby drive. My husband ordered the three meats $17 with no sides and my husband stated the ribs were dry but the sausausage was good. His food did come with the jalepeno bread that was Very good. I got the...
