Great place to eat

This is a great place to have breakfast on Sunday mornings after church or any morning really. Get there early because the place is always packed. Service is great, food is really really good.

Not even open for dinner! That takes some Chutzpah! Like a trip back in time and to somewhere far, far farther Northeast.... Very busy at times, but a short wait. Truly a NYC little spot in Meyerland. We love their Chopped Liver and their Lox! And their Bagels are truly to-die-for! Fine staff, tiny and crowded sometimes, short wait for... More

We've been coming here for at least 17 years and it is still good as new. You get really big portions, delicious food, and good prices! Such a home setting too. Owners and waiters are really friendly and know the menu very well. Highly recommend it...Best of New York in Texas.

I've been a fan of "the bagel shop" for 20+ years. The food is consistent and you will always get a no-frills, affordable & tasty meal here. The waitresses are authentic and many have worked there forever. In true NY fashion, they don't seem to care much for small talk unless you are a regular or they know you personally.... More

For me, as someone who lived in NYC for years, New York Coffee Shop is a real gem. The food and service are wonderful and no wifi or TV's allows a meal to be about the meal and the people. We love it and go weekly, sometimes more.

Ok, I stole the title from Jerry Seinfeld. But I did feel as if I were in a NYC coffee shop when I came to this greasy spoon. I had family in town and we needed a quick place for a late breakfast on a Sunday. We decided the local IHOP would take too long, so I hastily found this... More

We enjoyed a late brunch here today. Staff was nice, and at 2pm, there was no crowd. I enjoyed a 3 egg omelet with spinach, cheese and tomatoes, and some very good, very hot grits, as well. My brother enjoyed a blueberry bagel. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean and relaxing; like an old school coffee shop;... More

A staple for HouJews! Great, fresh bagels and a great place to go to brunch and see the whole community. They are also very involved in the Jewish community, so it is not unusual to see the Jewish youth groups holding bake sales outside, so if you see them, save room for homemade desserts!

We went to eat breakfast here for the 3rd time, and still love it. It feels like stepping back in time about 30 years, which is fun, and the food is very good. It's always bustling, and people always seem to be enjoying themselves. This time I tried kippered salmon and the "everything" bagel at the waitress's suggestion, and they... More
