We had a very enjoyable lunch. I had the salmon and husband had grilled chicken. Very tasty. We each ordered $6.00 desserts. This is Texas! For that amount of money we were expecting a decent size piece of tres lechee cake and rice pudding. We got a small scoop of rice pudding and a 2x2 inch piece of cake. Both... More

I stopped in here for lunch with granddaughter and friends on a weekday. I should have suspected when it was 12:30 pm and the place was almost empty. Service was so bad we had to track down our waiter twice just to get what we ordered, and then to get the check (did I mention the place was almost empty?)... More

The owner came by personally to greet every table. He also gamely agreed to take photos for my table. This was especially appreciated, since it was father's day!

I have lived in the US for 20 years and i have to tell you that this os one of the best Spanish restaurants in the country. They do have food from mexico and cuba, bug my family only tries tapas and wine. They have a nice selection of spanish wine, we had a nice ribera del duero for $40.... More

We went to El Meson twice while my spouse was going for treatment at MD Anderson. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, sort of casual chic with muted lighting and well-spaced tables, a good choice when you want to go to a "nice restaurant" with a Spanish flavor. They have valet parking, which can be handy because they are in... More

My finance' is Cuban, I've ate cuban food before in Miami, Lafayette, and other places, Food at El Mason is a joke. Mojito taste like lemonade with mint leaves no alcohol. They serve mostly Mexican food not cuban. Waiters don't understand Spanish, really come on must I say more. You have be careful what you order, because you think you... More

El Meson is a classic. Well-cooked Cuban and Spanish dishes meet perfect service in a comfortable and relaxed, yet classy setting. Good selection of wines, and good people watching. Their pollo al ajillo is the best, and I've returned year after year for it. Prices are also good. You'll definitely leave happy!
