Christie's always offers good seafood items. It's one of our favorite restaurants when we feel like seafood. Try their specialties.
Very friendly hostess seated us and we brought to 6 the number of tables occupied. Observed 3 servers waiting on the other 5 tables. We made eye contact several times, to no avail. Finally left after 20 plus minutes. No water, nothing. Luckily we live in Houston with plenty of superb restaurants. We do not have to settle for tired... More
My wife and I were in Houston celebrating her birthday and just happened upon Christie's Seafood. They've been in business since 1917! The yummy food, attentive service and the old "seafood décor" complete with a huge marlin on the wall all made for a wonderful evening!
Okay, as they say on the menu, "Since 1917, ESTABISHED BEFORE YOU WERE BORN." Hmmm. In this retro building across from the vernerable Palm restaurant, this place reeks of yesteryears. But, try the Gumbo, light and fresh. Famous Fried Shrimp brought me back to my first restaurant shrimp in Louisiana. After all these years, they still get it right, if... More
Today my family took my father to Christie's for Father's Day! His choice, of course since he has been dining here for many years! Service was good and meal proceeded at a good pace. I ordered the special "rainbow trout almandine" with green beans! Very good but not outstanding! Everyone else in our party ordered either fried shrimp or fried... More
My girl friend and I feasted on the most delicious fried shrimp ever tasted; a big fresh Greek salad with calamari, fried mini crab balls that melt in your mouth, and after some deliberations, we split a heavenly Bananas Foster Pie! We were greeted by more than one family member at Christie's friendly Restaurant at 6029 Westheimer Rd. Coming back... More
Christie's has excellent food and service in a white table cloth environment. One reason we enjoy Christie's is that we can talk across the table without shouting, which is so relaxing compared to those high-noise places we avoid. Decisions, Decisions - deciding between the stuffed flounder, the shrimp salad and the shrimp Po-boy is always a challenge for me. Christie's... More
After reading all of these rave reviews, we decied to try it while we were in town It was okay - just okay. For the flavor, I thought it was over priced. I don't mind paying $$$ for a great meal, but not an okay one. The shrimp was large, but the breading was dough-y on the inside. We scraped... More
Christies restaurant had been around or years. We have been many times over the years. I took my family again last week and we are never let down with the service and mainly the food. We all ordered seafood dishes this time and not a complaint in the group! If you catch it on a night as we did, when... More
