The food at both of the Captain Tom locations is always great! This is very casual dining so don't go there for fine dining. But if you want fresh seafood this is the place. You can watch the cooks batter and fry the catfish, shrimp and oyters. The raw oysters are shucked as you order them. Try a michalad to... More

This used to be my favorite seafood place in Houston and I've been coming here for years but I was so grossed out I probably won't even touch another oyster. I came on my birthday, ordered twelve oysters, which had at least one pink worm in it. I didn't make a scene and told the guys there wasn't a problem... More

I hate rating restaurants and such, but after eating here and reading almost all of the reviews: excellent place to have raw oysters and seafood!

After reading reviews I decided to try this place for dinner. The line waiting for a seat was about 10 minutes long as it seems this restaurant is always busy. After finding a seat I ordered a bowl of gumbo ($3.10) and the texas mini ($8.95) and tea. The gumbo arrived and it was excellent. Not only did it taste... More

Captain Tom's is by far the most consistent tasting seafood place all around! 6.95 for a dozen fresh shucked in front of your face oysters! Single catfish combo for 6.95! Flonder around 12! This place is awesome... minus the wait.

My father-in-law took me to Capt. Toms last week for the first time (but not the last). He raved about the food on the way there and Capt. Tom's didn't disappoint. We both ordered a cup of gumbo for starters. Magnificent, rich, and full of seafood. We also ordered a half dozen raw oysters (we received 8 large ones) that... More

We stopped by Tom's Boat to eat from the advice of a friend who used to live in Houston. We were doing a road trip of Texas and wanted some seafood and thought it would be good to try. The wait was about 10mins as the seating is kind of lacking (but it's inside of a BOAT on LAND so... More
