Our daughter did not feel up to going out to eat so we ordered take out. The portions were great and we enjoyed all the flavors and food that we had ordered.

The Original Lupe Tortillas is in an eclectic and slightly funky old house that has been added on to over the years. We started with a margarita that was just average. The chips we were served were thin and not very good. But they were served with a very good fresh salsa that was not spicy and a bowl of... More

Even with the boatload of choices available in Houston for TexMex / Mexican food I tend to always come back to Lupe Tortilla when I'm in town (from Austin). My favorite is the Steak Lupe; a nicely seasoned fajita steak smothered in melted jack cheese, tomatoes and onions. Sounds simple but damn it is good! The drinks are pretty standard... More

Let me start by saying "I didn't like Lupe's the first time I tried it." but, I found out that I simply ordered the wrong thing. In my native land, the Buckeye State, Mexican food is more flavorful and pretty consistent from restaurant to restaurant. However, the variety is much more limited and the dishes aren't nearly as fresh. At... More

I was visiting a friend in Texas, and he brought me here for an early dinner. Before I even get to the food, let me say that the staff were phenomenal. Friendly, personable, and they went WAY out of their way to make sure my allergies were taken care of. The food. OH the food. We had the steak fajitas.... More

His place makes great fajitas. Plain and simple. You will have a crowd for sure but that's the case at good restaurants. Get tres leches cake as well!

On the spur of the moment, we stopped here after work and had a very filling dinner. Chips, queso, charro beans and salsa were the appetizers. We nearly filled up on that. We continued to devour our main course of Tacos al Carbon. Authentic Mexican music played and the decorations made us feel welcomed.

We were in Houston for a long weekend. Living in California now, we've missed ourTexMex. Our kids (who live in Houston) chose Lupe Tortilla's. We started with the blood orange margaritas. They were so good! We were served complimentary salsa and whole beans with chips. Yum! We ordered queso. Also yum! I have totally missed cheese enchiladas with chili con... More
