What a hoot. This was the perfect lunch stop after a day of Houston sight-seeing. The oysters were big, fat and fresh, and the shrimp gumbo was plentiful, but nice and light so I didn't feel like I was walking out with a load in my gut. Tasted great, too. Long tables, plenty of beer and several football games on... More

First of all, this place has a Louisiana flare and it does a good job of that. I had the shrimp and crab gumbo. It was good, and they gave me a generous portion, but for charging dollar more they gave you only a tiny piece of French bread. The crackers that came with the gumbo was stale. The atmosphere... I've actually been here in the past several times and I was always satisfied, however as of late I can't say the same. The food has not been impressive at all, in fact my last experience was nothing to write home about so this time I tried to keep it simple by ordering chicken tenders they were fried so hard... It's crawfish season and no one spices em better than Ragin' Cajun. These boys are from Lafayette, Louisiana, take delivery daily straight from the Louisiana swamps daily and boil tails, taters and corn on the cob, 50 lbs at a time. You want to order a pitcher of your favorite local microbrew to wash em down. We started with a... More

I was at the Ragin' Cajun with a group, and ordered a half bucket of crawdads and some shrimp. After being away for 5+ years, the mudbugs and shrimp were as good as I remember!! One big hint!! Roll up your sleeves!! I love the Ragin' Cajun for the place that it is - somewhere to get a beer, some... More

We ( 6 Visitors and myself ) wanted to watch the Saints play the game at the last minute since it was not televised in Houston and luckily Rajin Cajun was carrying the telecast. It was great and the food was great also. Oyster Po boy was really good as well as the red beans and rice and the Gumbo,... More

I dined on oysters and hurricanes. The oysters were very good ($10/dozen) but the hurricanes were average at best. The Happy Hour discount was nothing special as well. I would not go back for it.

The teenage kids like it because they are not paying the grossly overpriced bill. RC has successfully priced itself out of the market. After all, it is not Joyce's or Pappadeaux. At Christmas they usually have a gift card special to partially offset the pending 25% price increases. The food is marginal at best, and no better than awful BB's... More

The atmosphere is loud, crazy fun and the crawfish is fabulous. We took our cousins from San Diego for their first crawfish cajun style and they loved it! Our waitress was kind enough to bring the bibs to the table because you are going to get some on you :)
