Decent BBQ, Very Friendly

I am not a Texas BBQ expert. I had the three meat plate. Plenty of food. The ribs were good, the sausage interesting, the brisket was disappointing. Grilled zucchini is a pleasant surprise. The ambiance is picnic tables. The people are great.

Texas sized portions of barbeque, chicken fried steaks. Their largest chicken fried steak covers a platter and if you can eat it and two sides you get your picture on Facebook. If you have big appetite, this is your place. They also have entertainment, Cousin Buck Stonebroke when I was there, that makes it worth hanging around for a few... More

As always, my husband and I rely on TripAdvisor for our out of town dining. We stopped in at Hickory Hollow around 8 PM on a weeknight and received decent service. We both enjoyed our meals, sliced beef sandwich with fries and a beef and sausage poboy with their hot tots. The meat was tender and had a good flavor,... More

If you are looking for a great place to have BBQ you have to try Hickory Hollow. I like the loose cut brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage! They have really good fried okra and mushrooms. I like the grilled zucchini. They have sweet tea, regular tea. Save room for pie!

Went for lunch to Hickory Hollow and ordered the loaded bake potatoe that was just as described "loaded." It came with the salad bar, but I'm not quite sure if you can call the small salad station as a "salad bar." Only lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and salad dressings. None the less, the lunch was good. My friends had the chicken... More

Finally went for lunch after working in the area for 3+ years. Meat first.... had a two meat plate. Sausage and ribs. The sausage was exemplary. It was flavorful and textured. The ribs were a bit salty but that is kind of expected when dealing with mass production. Sides... had the potato salad and coleslaw. Enjoyed them both. Nothing over... More

We went to Hickory Hollow on Heights Blvd Thursday (after the Houston Auto Show) with a group of six. Two of us had the Large Rancher Chicken Fried Steak (the biggest one), two had the One Meat BBQ Platter with Fresh Smoked Turkey Breast, one had a new turkey sandwich which was on a (maybe) chalkboard on the wall with... Good Chicken fried steak. The Hot TOTS ARE to DIE FOR. Just get them. How could friend mashed potatoes be bad. The Bar B Que is okay, but the above are awesome.

Great barbecue & generous portion. Love the hot tots. If you can handle a little jalapeño, you'll love the hot tots too. Very reasonable prices. As good if not better than Goode company, better priced for sure. I always cater from them and it's as good as being in the restaurant. Again, generous portion for catering too.
