I am new to Houston but fell upon this place with a good friend who lives nearby. I don't think Mistral has outside seating but they own the Boulangerie next door which does have seating so we were allowed to sit and eat in the nice spring weather outside (or maybe it was Mistrals?). I am semi-sort of-French and found... More

Thank you so much for the compliments and kind words. We sincerely appreciate your well thought-out observations. The outdoor seating is both for Le Mistral and Foody's Gourmet, the boulangerie. With the gorgeous weather we experienced last week and (with fingers crossed) more good weather to come, the food and service is expected to be as fantastic as the atmosphere.... More

We went as a party of four on a Saturday night. The restaurant was full, but we had made a reservation and were shown to our table immediately. Francis introduced himself to us and did an amazing job of taking casre of us (thank you Francis). We selected a bottle of wine and he advised us that another vintage was... More

Houston has thousands of premium restaurants. Not one compares to Chef David Denis and his staff at Le Mistral. Upon arrival, we were escorted to a private room overlooking the kitchen. Chef David Denis entered and introduced himself. He made all of us feel as if we were part of his family. He brought paper and pencil and began to... More

Booked at Le Mistral for a business lunch - ideal place to meet and conduct business. The waiters are considerate of the fact when they see a conversation taking place and very efficient with the timing of the meal.

Le Mistral has a great sense of style; the art work reflects the Houston environs (giant bull painting, collage of Texas plains), the walls are more earth-toned, and the lighting is well-placed and not too dim. We were during a January and it took them awhile to turn up the heat--sitting by a window was a chilling proposition. We requested... More

Upon arrival you see a wonderful setting. Beautiful decor and ambiance. Our waiter Sofien was very attentive. Chef David is a Master. I have been to France many times and I have never had such a wonderfully prepared meal. Touring the Kitchen explains the amazing attention to detail in the food presentation. My husband and I had dinner with another couple on Saturday, December 14. Our reservation was for 7PM. Our friends arrived before 7 and were promptly seated. We arrived at 7:05 and joined them at the table. We sat for 40 minutes before we saw our waiter. He never asked if we wanted to see the wine list. We had... More

We had the four course lobster tasting menu with a set wine arrangement (half glasses, still quite well filled actually), it was outstanding. Atmosphere very nice, especially the tall ceiling with the half dome covered in paper roses for some what more muffled acoustics drew my attention. Service was very good, attentive yet unintrusive. The only remark could be the... More

A quaint French restaurant that offered us an incredible culinary dining experience. We started with the Tranche de Foie Gras Poêlée for an appetizer as recommended by our waiter. It was crazy good. I went there during the week at lunch and had the menu special, presentation and service were good, portions are average, but the fillet I had was excellent, one of the best meat I had in Houston, and only for this they have earned my 4 out of 5. If it was a bit less expensive I'd probably go there... More
