Established in 1995. Mambo Seafood(R) Restaurants began operating in the predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods of Southwest and North Houston in the mid 1990's with a menu or varied seafood dishes prepared with the best elements of both traditional and innovative American and Latin seafood cuisines. Grilled, fried and steamed seafood roll out of the kitchens served by the pound "family style" or as individual platters. Mambo Rice is a signature dish that guests always rave about! Mambo Seafood(R) features bars where oysters are freshly shucked while guests enjoy a trademark Mambo Chelada(R) with their favorite ice cold imported or domestic beer. The beautiful and gracious Mambonificas™ provide friendly and cordial service while lively Latin music plays from the Juke Box. Most Mambo Restaurants(R) feature a large comfortable patio for outside dining. Mambo Seafood(R) is not just good, its Mambonifico(R).

If you ever crave great seafood you have to go to mambos! It helps they have a fish market set up so you see what you get. Oysters never tasted better! Ceviche is the best!!!! Their fried seafood has amazing flavor!

I've been to Mambo 5 times now and every time the experience gets worse. Last visit was the tipping point. Previous visit complaints were limited to warm beer and oysters on the half shell not even making it to our table before our main order was finished. This last time started with a waitress that understood ZERO English. She had... More

I've visited Mambo's on 4 occasions with my wife. Most of the customers are usually of Mexican American decent. Today we were the only Caucasian customers that I could see and the place was full. So it is a very popular spot for Mexican Americans since the food is more Mexican style seafood. There's always a lively atmosphere and the... More

The food was great but the place is messy and the service is not too good either! There was a piece of chewed gum stuck to the top of the roll of paper towels on our table - the seats had salad dressing splattered on them and the hot sauce bottle had drippins all over it...we were hungry and tired... This restaurant was recommended by a co-worker who is a Houston native. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced. Wait staff was very polite, but very slow. Could have been because we went on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was very busy. The supposedly "world famous" Mambo rice was nothing more than Chinese-food style shrimp fried rice. It was... I ventured to Mambo's because I was told by a local that this place had fresh seafood and an all around good place to eat. I went on a Friday night with my family. The menu was very hard to understand. There were many options of seafood, but most of them were all fried. The side dishes were either fried... More

This is a place that we ate to enjoy the food. It is not a place for ambience unless you enjoy crowds of people, similar to a market. It was close to the hotel we stayed at, so we ended up having dinners here for two evenings in a row. It is cheap, and good food. The place was packed... More

If you are in the mood for an authentic mexican atmosphere this is the place! My husband is Mexican and this is the only place he will eat when we visit Houston. The seafood is cooked to perfection. The Michelada is awesome! Great place for a couple or families.
