Irma's is easy to find, as it's almost right across the street from the Minute Made Complex in Houston. The first thing you notice as you drive up to the shop is that it's clearly a Mexican style restaurant, but not pretensions or a caricature of what some would suppose such a restaurant should look like. It's family owned and... More

My husband had a breakfast meeting here yesterday and was so impressed he wanted to bring me here today! Fabulous is all I can say. Was shocked to see someone had left a 1 star review, but when I actually read his review I realized he was like a buzzard being fed a rib eye when road kill would have... More

The food and service here was AWESOME. What wasn't awesome is that they don't have a menu. The very courteous staff tells you what's on the menu for that day. ASK THE PRICE. I ordered and sampler plate with tamale, enchilada and beef fajita taco. We had queso and my son had 3 plain beef tacos. Total bill was over... More

The place was packed. Was surprised that they don't offer a menu. Their food was very good. And it's just around the corner from minute maid park. If you eat there before a game, you park free.

I went here with a co-worker for lunch in mid-July 2014. To be fair, we had both heard about the high prices. After we were seated the waitress kept trying to push the lemonade on us. I decided to opt for the lemonade and had the poblano pepper entree. That was mistake Numero Uno. I also asked for a side... More

With all the chain restaurants taking over the country, it's nice to visit a little place with family charm, especially when the kitchen produces such tasty dishes. I like the fact there is no menu, the waiter will let you know what's available that day; go ahead and pick something, it will be delicious!

Next to Minute Maid Field in downtown Houston, this is THE best Mexican food in Houston, maybe the state. No menu, they'll tell you what's being served. You'll find out the price when the bill arrives, but no worries...they're fair based on the quality. Irma herself is still in the Kitchen making awesome tamales and guacamole. The crowds can be... Their dinner hours are limited, usually to nights the Astros are playing but the food is really great. The fish is always fresh and very tasty. Sea bass is our favorite. The atmosphere is casual but the food beats much more formal and expensive places.

Irma's was recommended to us by a federal detention center officer on break a block away. We were headed to Minute Maid Park for an Astros game and had scheduled ourselves some time for lunch. Irma's is open only on weekdays for breakfast and lunch, except it opens for three hours before Astros home games. As out-of-towers, we didn't know... More

I came here twice for lunch. The salsas are great especially the roasted one which is hotter. The chille relleno was a little different. The enchiladas an shrimp tacos wre great. No menu everything is recited.
