Famous Guacamole

We made reservations for Irma's because of a baseball game, glad we did! We were moved to the front of the line and seated right away. I read on Trip Advisor that the Guac was excellent, it did not disappoint. My husband had Irmas tamales and I had fish taco's, both were very good. The waitress... read more

Visiting Houston for business and wanted to try local flavor! The owner Louie greeted us and serves us and we let him pick all of our selections! We are from New Orleans and are accustomed to spice and flavor and we were so impressed! Best in Houston hands down!!!! Thanks Louie for a fantastic lunch! Sea bass and tamales were... More

This place was remarkable. We were in town for business and came across this place on the way home. It was after lunch, mid afternoon, the hostess sat us by the kitchen and a older lady said no you will sit here and moved us where all the plants and a beautiful view. No menu and our waiter made a... More

We've eaten at the old Irma's so many times, they know us by name. This was our first visit to the "fancy Irma's" and the food and service was so good, I didn't want to leave! The guacamole is the best; the chips were perfect; our meals were amazing. We made reservations because it was game night, but we called... More

Interesting and very nice place. No menus. It's on a chalk board or the waiter will tell you what is good. Don't be fooled by that. It is upscale Interior-Mexican and super- good salsas. Guacamole is unique and delicious. Service is excellent and very friendly owner and staff. (His Mama started the place: Irma). Reasonably priced - but definitely not... More

We had lunch, and it was superb. The service was fast, the food was hot and delicious, and the iced tea was refreshing. My chile relleno was crisp, not slimy, and the Mexican rice was perfect!

I didn't get the full restaurant experience because I was with a large party in a private dining room, but the service and food were excellent. We were served buffet style, and I asked for a small portion of all they offered. Everything was very tasty, especially the fajitas and tamales.

We stayed here during a trip around Texas. We we're up for Mexican food and found this restaurant in TripAdvisor. We got a table in a more quiet part of the restaurant which was crowded. A good sign normally. We both have chosen the same menu. We had no luck. The menu was not available this night. The same with... More

I took a friend to lunch there on a Friday. It was reasonably crowded but we were able to get a table. Food was outstanding. Portions fairly large. Some reviewers on other sites complain about the price but a substantial and delicious meal can be had for under $14-16 which was good value for what you get.
