Great lunch

We stopped during the early afternoon to have a late lunch. All four of us had something different and everyone was pleased with their selection. Each dish was creative with a very nice presentation. Their dishes are based upon traditional Mexican cooking. Service was good but not great. The staff... read more

This was our third time to Hugo's, this time to celebrate Valentine's Day. We could only get a reservation for 9:00 PM but the benefit was that we didn't have to wait for a table. The place was still busy and had its normal good atmosphere. We decided to skip the special Valentine's menu and order off the regular menu.... More

I chose this place to celebrate my son's birthday and came out disappointed. The food was good but the customer service wasn't, won't be going back. This was my first and last time there. 1. My friend and my entree came out cold, they made a new for us but we couldn't eat with the group. The guy wearing a... More

I came here for a company Sunday brunch a few weeks ago. There were about 10 of us and our reservation was for 10:30AM. This place was packed but for good reason. We were seating in the back by the buffet which had a wide assortment of brunch foods. Lots of meat and eggs and Mexican stuff. I'm actually not... More

This is not a Tex Mex restaurant and if that's what you're looking for then steer clear. This is authentic Mexican fare and it's wonderful. The brunch buffet was just an epicurean delight all the way through. So many wonderful choices and all were flavorful and well prepared. The berry mimosas are a Must! Just a fabulous compliment to the... More

It was worth it. The server Hugo is awesome. One day he ants to start his own Hugo. The Octopus is amazing.Tender perfect cooking, Suckling... More

Forget about the standard Mexican fare what you get is refined and delicious. A friendly and professional staff takes good care of you. The food put a new spin on central Mexican dishes for us. Portions are just right and not overwhelming. A well curated wine list complements the menu, interesting selection of Rieslings.

I've been to Hugo's several times. It's the place to take tourists, for sure! I've done three courses each time I've eaten here and highly recommend you do the same. Cocktail pairings are excellent! This is one of my favorite Houston establishments...
