If you want authentic Mexican flavor go to Hugos. By authentic I dont mean tex mex or tacos and burritos by authentic I mean REAL mexican cuisine. Its like taking a trip to the southern part of Mexico and eating at your friends grandmas house, Real flavor. I love the detail in every dish and the portion sizes, love the... More

Bar area is nice the rest of the space utilitarian. The service is rushed the food was not bad but far from delicious. We ordered the Barbacoa(Lamb) the portion was small and with onions garlic and chilies listed you would expect a robust flavor. No,not a flavor to be found. The Carne Brava tasted better kind of.Not sure what the restaurant scene is like... Went with a group of people for dinner. Started out a little bit poorly as we were seated close to 30 minutes after our reservation time, but luckily the bar makes excellent drinks. We shared an array of appetizers including a creamy roasted cauliflower, tender grilled octopus, ceviche that was less cured and less citrusy than I'm used to and... More

Ernesto's in San Antonio ranks as the best Mexican restaurant at which I've eaten in the USA, but Hugo's is a very close second. Now I'm sorry I waited so long to go there. At lunch today, hubby ordered Carne Brava, skirt steak, served with, among other thing, arroz a la Mexicana, the traditional rice dish found on all Mexican... More

Went for the 1st time with my family foodies and had great time. Everything from the menu (beef, sea food) was delicious but the oxtail dish was out if this world! Will go back soon!

It's been a long while since I've been to Hugo's. We joined friends for dinner. They each had a couple of margs. We each had two Oaxacan margaritas which were wonderful. I always order mine with less simple syrup, more lime and no ice. Delicious and smooth. For appetizers we had a traditional ceviche, trip of ceviches, and chapulines. The... More

Excellent service, food was amazing! First class drinks and a seafood platter made the night even better. Steaks looked great at our table. Definitely, one of Houston's finest

The Sunday buffet brunch at Hugo's is deliciously excellent: quality ingredients, wonderful textures and amazing flavors. You'll find a fantastic variety of buffet options. It's all superb, but the chilaquilas, ceviche and roasted pork are stand outs. Make sure you save room for their desserts - they are sinfully delectable. Be sure to make reservations, this place is very popular.... More

Went for brunch recently with party of 12. I was taking foodie friends of mine who had never been but read good reviews. I wish the experience was better. 1. Valets denied me handicapped parking even though I had a permit. They do valet only during brunch and street parking signs in the area prohibit non permit parking on the... More
