Had lunch here and it was packed. Service good and friendly. Suspect they are liked for pastries though I had none as I can't eat gluten. Lunch offerings were limited with very small portions. My Provence salad was a very odd combo of ingredients with a very off putting taste. I only ate it so as not to offend my... More

For a place that touts itself as a French bakery, the chocolate croissant was very disappointing. Tough and dry. The staff claims the pastries are all baked fresh each day, which must be true because I was not offered a replacement or alternative when I complained. They said putting it in the oven to warm would help, so I handed... More

I can't find a better cup of coffee in Houston if one orders the latte. It's deep and rich and served in a wonderful big cup. Served with one of the delicious danishes or a piece of freshly made quiche, or perhaps fresh bread and butter and jam...this is a simple breakfast at its best.

While visiting in Houston I went with my hosts to breakfast every morning to this delightful Cafe. It is patronized largely by "regulars" who greet each other and exchange news while reading and sharing their daily newpapers. The bakery is excellent and one of the few places I have found 'miches' as well as baguettes, petits pains and 7 grain... More

This was our last day in Houston this trip and we decided to try this restaurant in Rice Village (p.s., we've had good luck with most restaurants in Rice Village). We arrived at a lucky time - The line was not out the door. We had two quiche, a large Latte and a palmier for me. I recommend it, but... More

My wife & I went on a Sat morning & were satisfied as expected. There are not many seats & this small cafe can get packed quickly, so go early or mid morning to avoid heavy traffic.

Okay, so ignoring the cheesy title, this place truly deserves every food connoisseur’s attention be they Houston natives or visitors. This place is nestled away in the heart of rice village in an almost unassuming building, however, don’t confuse unassuming with mediocre. This place creates some of the freshest and finest bread creations around. Their namesake creation (croissant) is wonderful... More

We've been coming to this spot for fifteen years. Eric, the owner is from Lyon and makes the best French breads in Texas. How he does this in the Houston humidity is a mystery, but the breads are fantastic. A great place to bring children or friends or just stop by yourself. Great soups, brioche, chocolate croissants, miche...all of it... More
