Always a sure bet.

Always a sure bet. I love this place for its good vibes and great food. I like the layout of the tables and openness. You can see what others are having and be temped to try something new. Most diners are willing to share their advice on selections.

Coworker recommended this place so we took a trip to downtown Houston. Restaurant was very busy. Seemed we had to wait a long time for server. Food was quick to be brought out. Husband got the beef and broccoli and I got the chicken and asparagus. Both delicious. With tea and food, under $50. I would definitely eat there again.

Was in Houston attending a graduation. I arrived extremely late due to airline delays and was starving on arrival. My sister took me to Mai's, as it is open until 3am! I thought maybe I was too hungry, but I returned 2 more times and the food is consistently good. No complaints!

AMAZING FOOD. It is very popular late at night for post-concert, post-games and post-nightlife crowds. It was packed when we arrived and we were told the wait would be 20 mins, but it was only 10. The orders arrived quickly, one was incorrect but we werent upset. Check up service could have been faster, but if they staffed their busy... More

Took a group of clients to Mai's for dinner because my past experiences have been favorable. Then I realized, the majority of the meals I have eaten at this restaurant have been LATE at night and after quite a few libations. Well, maybe I should have stuck to that rule...probably one of the most average meal...and that's being kind! The... More

I have been going to Mai's for 20 yrs. There are many Vietnamese restaurants in Houston, but this is my favorite. The new building and interior are very nice. Mai's appeals to a wide variety of people - neighborhood, downtown workers, young, old - and most telling, Vietnamese!! The menu has changed somewhat since Mai's reopened after the fire. Lots... Best Vietnamese restaurant in town hands down! Delicious, large quantities, awesome look, super clean, interesting drinks and did I mention DELICIOUS?!?! If you like Vietnamese food you HAVE to go and eat up. So starve all morning or day and go eat lunch or dinner and make sure to go thirsty. Lotus blossom martini is thebomb.com!!!

After hours spent at the convention center, we were looking for a place close, good food, and reasonably priced. Found it! Being very cold (30's) and rainy , we were looking for some hot food, preferably soup. My niece had been to Mai's before & recommended the place- open til 3:30 am for night owls -just as a side note.... More

Mai's has been a favorite for years, and I've eaten there regularly. However, lately I've been disappointed in service and food. The last two visits were a little after the lunch rush (around 1:30 - 2:00 p.m.) and both times there was a large table of kitchen personnel eating their lunch in the dining room. Service was very slow, small... More
