Not that great

We went to dinner on a Friday night without a call ahead. It took about 45 minutes to get a table (which is totally understandable for the business), anyway we had drinks at the bar while we were waiting. I had the Mango Habanero Margarita, I don't want to state the obvious but it was a bit too... read more

We really enjoyed this restaurant. We found it on Alison's Cook's top 100 restaurant guide. The food was top notch. Our tea and soda was pricey ($3/each)! Cozy and tight quarters but worth the visit!

Recent family trip to downtown Houston was brightened by a late lunch Friday to experience this historic and well respected landmark restaurant. We deliberately waited until a later lunch to avoid what we know can be a crowd but were still greeted by pleasant staff and swift service. All of our entree choices were prepared well and the Margarita really... More

I love this place! All the food I have tried so far is outstanding... And the Ninfaritas are wonderful! I strongly recommend the Tacos al pastor: pineapple, charcoal grilled meat and the usual peppers... SO GOOD! I have also tried there the shrimp plates, and they are excellent too! Prices are reasonable (maybe a bit pricey for Texmex food), but... More

I had been to Ninfa's, but it had been a long time ago and one of the other restaurants. This Ninfa's was comfortable in its appearance and atmosphere. We were meeting friends and were very early so the wait staff was helpful, but not hovering. They brought us some cornbread muffins (I don't know the official name) and they were... More

This is the original Ninfas taquerias....the others were sold off, but this one was kept by the original chef....great service, authentic Mexican flavors, aromas and hospitality. I savored their TACOS AL CARBON, which included one beef fajita, one chicken fajita, pico de gallo, guacamole and a DELICIOUS and spicy Chili con Queso....Let me advised that the fajitas are so big, you can... My wife and I have eaten here several times and were so impressed with the food, margaritas, and atmosphere that we made it part of our pre-game ritual for our Houston Dynamo season tickets. They serve the best authentic Mexican food and margaritas of any restaurant I have been too. The Ninfarita is a great classic margarita, and the Navigation... More

The dining experience at Ninfa's on Navigation is exceeded only by the quality of the food and great service at the original Ninfa's. The tacos al carbon were outstanding with the beef actually sliced steak. From the margaritas to the octopus it was all fantastic. I especially recommend the Queso Flameado appetizer, the perfect blend of cheese and sausage. Dining... More

This is one restaurant those living in Houston and those visiting should visit. Yes, it has expanded, but its soul remains. The food, combined with the back story of the restaurant's origins, make this a place Tex-Mex chains try (and fail) to replicate. We went for a Sunday brunch, sat outside and enjoyed a relaxing meal. I had the carnitas... More

When we entered it was smelling Bad went to bar whilst waiting for our table and saw food passing by which didn't look that great,I asked some guys who were just leaving about the food and they said nothing special and that confirmed my gut feeling and paid for the drinks and left.
