For a high end restaurant, the service and the food was pretty spotty. I had the Business Lunch, which at $29 is a good deal if you don't mind the limitations (i.e. no Sweet Corn Ravioli with Lobster). Loved the Artichoke appetizer, and the Short Ribs over Polenta -- if you like these foods, it is the best deal at... More

Looking for a Christmas eve dinner in Houston, Da Marco Cocina e vino appeared as an alternative. So call for Christmas eve and was full, saw the menu, and decided to go the day before. The first thing you see once enter the restaurant is a cristal jar with uncooked rice a big white truffle inside with several bottles of... More

We went for our birthday and the service and food was amazing. The reason I'm giving it 4 dots instead of 5 is that it is very expensive. We had a white truffle pasta appetizer that was $85. I realize truffles are expensive but the portion was very small. My husband and I have been to Florence and had the... More

From the owners to the staff to every bite of food, every sip of wine, all I can say is SPLENDID! I attended the Venezia Dinner on Nov 23rd and will fly back to Texas from Virginia next year if they repeat the fete.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Reviewing the menu left us with a lot of questions since we are more familiar with French food, but Cesar, our understated (by that I mean discerning but not pushy), knowledgeable, and very helpful waiter not only answered our questions but took the time to draw out from us what we would... Great Italian restaurant with a thorough wine list, however, they only featured Italian wines. It would have been nice to see a few domestic or French options on there too. Food was top notch albeit slightly on the salty side. We ordered several appetizers as well as the porterhouse to share. It's a lot of meat so you definitely can... More

This was my second time at DaMarco's. The first time was several years ago, and all I remembered was how expensive it was. Well, that hasn't changed at all. The place is small and intimate, and the menu is best described as "unusual." There were no "normal" sounding items listed; for example, there is no simple house salad - or... More

I have frequented Da Marco's many times and always been pleased. On this particular evening, we white truffle dinner menu prepared by Marco, with selected wines from Domenico Clerico, who happened to be seated at our table. From start to finish, the food, service and wines were tremendous. The standouts for me were the tagliatelle pasta with white truffles and... More

I hadn't been to this restaurant in years as I was under the impression it was expensive and the menu was too eclectic, plus the last time I went our waiter's English was horrible. Well I was wrong as I went last week and it was wonderful, from the service, the atomsphere, the taste of the food and the waiter... More

I've been in Da Marco 3 or 4 times and although the food is simply the best Italian cuisine in town, the service remains poor and unfriendly. Upon arrival the only concern of the waiters was to show me the vine list. In a restaurant of this level I'd expect that customers are allowed to choose the food before the... More
