Enough with the iced water, okay?

Visiting Houston for the first time, stayed Downtown. Picked this one because it looked open - so many have dark windows, makes it hard to see if the lights are on! For a Thursday night, not very busy. We split the mixed starter - loved the candle stick shrimp, and the calamari, crab cakes... read more

Was in town for a convention and this restaurant was suggested because of the proximity to our hotel. What a treat. We made reservations, was seated promptly and offered drinks. The ball was dropped slightly between drinks and ordering but the wait was not excessively long. One drink had to be remade; the bartender brought it over personally to make... More

This had such a limited menu with smallish portions. Wait staff were good but options seemed to all be over cooked or taste the same. I had Seafood Pontchartrain and my partner had Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp. The bacon was so crisp when you bit into it -it fell off the shrimp. The entire meal was just okay. For dessert... More

We were promptly sat in an empty dining room on a Monday night. We waited for 15 minutes as various restaurant staff walked through the dining room. After being ignored, we decided to walk out since we assumed the service would get no better. I would have liked to eat there, but they should definitely refine how guests are seated... More

I am so sorry for your poor service experience. Can you please tell me what day you came in so I can find out who dropped the ball and how we can use this case for some service training. No excuses here. We owe you a free meal. Please come back and ask for Joe. Also if you come back... More

I dined here with a group of people after a day at a conference. The food was soooo good. We had the appetizer sampler with candlestick shrimp (amazing sweet and spicy sauce with it), crab cakes and calamari. For my entree I chose the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp. It was amazing. For dessert, I split the coconut cream pie. Thank... More

I was traveling with a coworker and we decided to try this and I am glad that we did. We started with the stuffed shrimp and it was very good. We decided to order all appetizers for our meal. We had the cheese dip, fried avocado and duck and all were very good. I would go back the next time... More

Went for a business lunch. The tuna tartare was great - the fried octopus was ok and the mains were good. So overall good decent seafood in the center of houston. Not "out of this world" but a good dependable and enjoyable business lunch

According to the menu Massa is celebrating its 70th birthday. The food is delicious (the redffish Ponchardin a treat) and the portions generous. The Massa's mix appetizer could easily feed four.

Good bowl of seafood gumbo (good roux) but I missed oysters, if they were in there. Excellent selection of breads. Shrimp appetizer was very tasty and fresh.

The food was good, but there were mistakes and inconsistencies with what was described on menu - smashed potatoes instead of pilaf, a starter salad that never arrived... I would have expected better service for a downtown location that caters to fine dining business lunch.
