Nice Surprise

I was traveling with a coworker and we decided to try this and I am glad that we did. We started with the stuffed shrimp and it was very good. We decided to order all appetizers for our meal. We had the cheese dip, fried avocado and duck and all were very good. I would go back the next time... read more

We were promptly sat in an empty dining room on a Monday night. We waited for 15 minutes as various restaurant staff walked through the dining room. After being ignored, we decided to walk out since we assumed the service would get no better. I would have liked to eat there, but they should definitely refine how guests are seated... More

I dined here with a group of people after a day at a conference. The food was soooo good. We had the appetizer sampler with candlestick shrimp (amazing sweet and spicy sauce with it), crab cakes and calamari. For my entree I chose the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp. It was amazing. For dessert, I split the coconut cream pie. Thank... More

Went for a business lunch. The tuna tartare was great - the fried octopus was ok and the mains were good. So overall good decent seafood in the center of houston. Not "out of this world" but a good dependable and enjoyable business lunch

According to the menu Massa is celebrating its 70th birthday. The food is delicious (the redffish Ponchardin a treat) and the portions generous. The Massa's mix appetizer could easily feed four.

Good bowl of seafood gumbo (good roux) but I missed oysters, if they were in there. Excellent selection of breads. Shrimp appetizer was very tasty and fresh.

The food was good, but there were mistakes and inconsistencies with what was described on menu - smashed potatoes instead of pilaf, a starter salad that never arrived... I would have expected better service for a downtown location that caters to fine dining business lunch.

We made a reservation for 8 persons, however they didn't prepare the table in advance. We were placed somewhere in the back at a huge square table for 16. The table was soo large that any conversations would be impossible. There were still other places free so we convinced them to put two normal size tables together. The food was... More

The salmon filet on bed of spinach was outstanding. We went on a night when they offered half price off any bottle of wine. Not sure how often that happens but it was awesome! We had to ask three times for bread, but when it arrived it was awesome! Many different types of interesting rolls and breads. Our waiter did... More

Efficient but not friendly service--felt rushes but restaurant was not packed. Very good seafood. We had gulf snapper and shrimp--very good but nothing special. Very convent in downtown Houston.
