We liked it so much we came back. My husband is doing major surgery tomorrow but this was a good place to forget worrying for a while. My son labelled it one of the best burgers he had ever had. My sister had the lamb burger because you don't see it that often. The really yummy part was desert. I... More

First of all this place is very charming without being cheesy. It's decorated so quaint and cute. There was a statue of Gollum in the lobby. We enjoyed the atmosphere and novelty of the restaurant. It's a little hidden gem, you should seek it out and try it. Highly recommended!

We were looking for something local near the Medical Center. As scifi fans we had to go to a restaurant called the Hobbit Cafe. Darling little place with very friendly staff. I liked it because my flexitarian self could have a spinach/mushroom enchilada with a mole sauce. My husband got to have a burger. We sat outside to enjoy the... More

Love this place. The parking is not the best but the service is great, the menu is delicious and the smoothies are to die for! I love how laid back and unique this restaurant is. Definitely a must go if you are in Houston and looking for a good place to try.

We met a couple of friends at the Hobbit for dinner this weekend. One of them had made reservations for about 15 of us and they had it all set up on the outside deck. Since there was perfect weather that turned out to be a great sitting area. The service was excellent, they took care of us quickly and... More

Eleven of us had lunch on a Thursday afternoon at this quirky, cozy little restaurant. I have been stopping by since it was The Hobbit Hole on S. Shepherd back in the '80's. The staff were very accommodating with the table and seating arrangement. We had a private room. It had been a while since my last visit so I... More

Stay away from the 'curry rice and salmon'...I wish the chef would taste that dish before he /she sends it out.. ...portions are pretty good, but overall food is good...

Meet some out of town friends here, wanting to show them a Houston tradition. Good waiter who was really knowledgeable of the menu and also with a trainee who did very well. The fajita (black bean nachos with chicken) appetizer was on time and excellent (but freshly cut jalapenos were too hot and crunchy). I had a lamb burger (done... More

Wanted to write to the restaurant but their website does not have a contact link. Food was okay, server was nice. But the salsa was like ketchup with chili powder mixed in. When I asked about it, the server said a new batch was being made. What she brought back was the same, only very heavily salted.

This was my first time at this place. My friends have been telling me to go. The place was wonderful and the food was great. The staff were friendly. Would be coming back.
