A very lovely place to meet for Brunch on a rainy Sunday. Menu is not pages long, but has very good variety. The food was excellent - bottomless good coffee, wonderful entrees - baked pears were awesome. Valet parking -- necessary in that neighborhood. Wonderful old house. Had not been in several years. Definitely worth a trip!

Very good! Wide variety on the menu (think updated versions of grandma's food with a yummy twist), we had great steak and shrimp and grits! Located in quaint house, valet parking. Will go back again.

We had a great time, the food was incredible - my wife had the lamb, so tender, I had the scallops. We had the red wine and white wine pairing menus. Get there early if you want a table

Excellent variety of salads with summer tomatoes to start. I enjoyed the coffee crusted filet - cooked perfectly. The service was top notch and friendly staff.

Lovely restaurant to visit. We began our meal with Gulf Coast Beignets after reading several recommendations for this appetizer -very good choice. The shellfish risotto and the pecan crusted chicken were both good dishes. We ended the meal with a delicious bread pudding.

It was Restaurant Week. It was 5:30 on a hot Saturday afternoon, but we had just left the theatre after watching a food romance movie. We had to have quality, soul-satisfying food - no chips and salsa. We agreed on Backstreet Cafe because we could get small plates to share over a glass of wine. The restaurant was full with... More

This is one of my favorite little restaurants. The seafood beignets are NOT to be missed!!! Last night the Lobster Special with champaign sauce, garlic mashed and corn soufflé was amazing! The presentation was one of the best I have ever seen and I order lobster every chance I get =)

Though the seating in the main restaurant was rather tight, the menu is exciting and varied. Be sure to also ask for the vegetarian menu, which has wonderful options as well. I had a wonderful salmon tartar appetizer and seafood risotto that had just the right amount of heat and a well cooked variety of muscles, clams, lobster . It... More

Truly phenomenal shrimp and grits! The moment I stepped out of my car, I was greeted by the friendly valet driver. From that point, I encountered nothing but excellent service at Backstreet Cafe. I went as a group, so we shared the appetizers, one of which were lump crab cakes which were amazing. However, the best thing about this place... More

Tried Backstreet Cafe for my Hubby's birthday dinner. Service was very good, drinks well- done. The Gulf Coast Beignets (seafood) were awesome (if the rest of the meal had been as good as the beignets it would have been off the charts good!). Main courses were rather bland and overcooked. The friends that we went with had been before, &... More
