Dinner with family, and some from out of town. gorgeous patio with fans and misters but a bit warm...ate upstairs inside instead. Quiet, excellent service. Vegetarian dinner was outstanding as were chicken dishes and kale salad. Perfect meal! Moderate prices...we will come back!

I was in Houston for the weekend, and I was looking for somewhere for brunch. I jumped on Google and found this beautiful gem. It was a bit busy and the wait was about 35min which passed rather quickly. I was seated on the front patio, which was great because the weather was beautiful. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and... Extremely busy on a Sunday. Valet difficult - tight tables, but Great Food. Almost too busy - some wrong items brought, but rapidly corrected.

I went to Backstreet Cafe this past Saturday for a friends birthday meal, he is really into brunch so I went along with it. So to be up front I am not a brunch guy, so my review is going to be a little more harsh than others. So not being a brunch guy i was turned off by how... More

Eight of us met at the Backstreet Cafe to celebrate two birthdays. It was my first time at the Backstreet and I was impressed. The service was friendly and attentive without being in your face. They have a very nice wine list and started with a great Melbac from Argentina. For starters we shared four small plates: Fritto Mixto which... More

Have been here twice for the jazz brunch on a date and enjoyed both occasions. Not the most romantic place and it is difficult to have a private conversation since the tables are so close together. The food is always good and I really enjoy the music. Will I be back again, not sure. The parking is awful, prices are... More

This is mine and my husband's favorite restaurant in Houston. We love the old house look (with a fireplace upstairs!), the patio, and of course the delicious food. Our favorite dinner meal is the pecan crusted chicken. Best thing ever. I've also been for lunch and the choices are just as scrumptious then. Check it out!

We were down town Houston for an appointment and went to the Backstreet café. My first visit. Very comfortable unique design with very nice inside and outside environment. We set outside under a gorgeous tree. The staff was outstanding. We shared Salmon tacos, which were made with grilled salmon. They had fresh made refried beans that were outstanding. We had... More

We had the snapper and the lamb. All was cooked to perfection. Looked beautiful. The portions were a really good size. The bathroom was clean. The waiter was super nice. Wonderful time.
