Excellent attention to detail

We had a nice visit and enjoyed each course. I'm surprised that it was so quiet, even on a Thursday night. We will be back.

There aren't many places you can still go where the people take the time and energy to make their customers happy, both from the experience they have in the restaurant and in the quality of the food they serve. I go back to Charivari on at least a monthly basis for both of these reasons, and am never disappointed. This... More

This is a European restaurant that lives locally here in Houston Texas. And it never fails to please! A cream of broccoli soup and pasta bolognese for a $10 lunch special? Delicious and affordable. Try the coffee Scheumlie with a fabulous dessert ...

The exterior is underwhelming, but the interior and the food make you feel that you have left Texas. The service was perfect!

My husband and I have been coming here for many years and love the food and the chef owner. He and his wife are so personable and always spend extra time with the guests. We took some friends and they said they would be coming back. Great German dishes plus many other selections.

Located in a strip center in the busy Midtown-Montrose area, this restaurant is suitably decorated so that it has a Old World feel. This was certainly an older more sedate crowd. The chef is Romanian and his wife appears to be the greeter and she was very nice. The appetizers and salads came quickly but then there was an eternal... More

It is always a pleasure to experience Charivari. Because this is exactly what it is. It is an experience, not 'just' lunch or dinner. This is not a place where you go, sit down, eat something quickly and leave. Here, you will be able to relax, have a conversation with your family, partner or friends, enjoy some excellent food and... More

I ordered the perfect dish for me as it tasted like I was back in Germany. The ambiance was quiet and we were the only ones in there for a while, but were eating a relatively early dinner for a Saturday. Service was very professional and polite. The peach cobbler wasn't what I was expecting but was good once I... More

The food was average the service poor and was a total let down. We had been here a couple of years ago with a Groupon and were disappointed then...we decided to try again just thinking that the whole "Groupon" thing might have tainted the delivery of the food...nope.

We've been going to Charivari now for the past 5 years, sometimes lunch, sometimes dinner, and every time.....perfect. If you want a place you can go to get freshly cooked food and be treated like a regular, then this is where you want to go. From traditional Bavarian prepared fresh and surprisingly light, to some of the best seafood, to... More
