Description: In 1982, we opened Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar on the Gulf Freeway...
In 1982, we opened Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar on the Gulf Freeway, which we owned and operated for 22 years. A second Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar debuted on Shepherd in 1984, which he closed four years later in order to open our famous West Gray Tony Mandolaʼs flagship location. Our lifelong dream of owning a freestanding restaurant has now become a reality with the opening of our new, permanent Tony Mandola's location at 1212 Waugh Drive. We take great pride in serving what we think is some of the best food on the Gulf Coast. Everything is homemade fresh in our kitchen daily and many of our dishes are our Mamas' recipes. God Bless our Mamas and God Bless you for your patronage.“Dedicated to the preservation of the art of Mamas' Cooking.” Sincerely,Tony & Phyllis Mandola

I try to eat here everytime I am in Houston. The food is fresh and exceptional. My favorite is the Shrimp Larry! Lots of variety and some of the best desserts in town. My favorite is the Banana Key Lime Pie!

We lived in Houston for 32 years before moving to Key Largo, Fl. and we were regulars at Tony Mandola's Seafood Kitchen. Do yourself a favor and order the Jalapeno stuffed schrimp. Incredible. Also, Tony's family recipe for the Maetballs in the Spaghetti and meatballs are out of this world.

Visited this restaurant last night to celebrate my daughters birthday with my grandson. She is new to Houston so this restaurant was recommended by an acquaintance of hers. We tried in March to walk in to have dinner w/o reservations but was told they were completely booked for the rest of the evening and this was early evening (6 ish).... More

Food was sumptous, with great selection of seafood, soups, crepes etc. The usual fare but coupled with soft live music, great service made it a very enjoyable meal with family. The only suggestion: perhaps include coffee/tea in pricing. It is after all "brunch".

Valet parking then seated for our reservation. Wait staff very attentive and food was amazing. Soft shell crabs were very popular at our table and everyone enjoyed their meal. Great desserts!

Food was decent but definitely not as good as expected or should have been. Nice environment but very loud, not terrible but would not go back.

This is a great place if you love fresh gulf seafood. We ate there this weekend and I had the redfish martha (sauce with shrimp, crabmeat and crawfish). Perfect!
