The Empire Cafe is a hidden gem in the Montrose area where you can watch the busy city slow down. It's really nice to be able to sit outside and enjoying a sunny day in Houston. I like the laid-back atmosphere and the friendly staff. Highly recommend the Milky Way and the chocolate cake - they are the definition of... More

This popular Breakfast spot is very good most of the time. The omelets range from very good to avg. all apparently depending on how busy they are. If the line is out the door they are so busy they are just churning out food and the quality suffers, otherwise I rate this Cafe as very good

Great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And dessert! Tasty selection. I stop in here to get work done between appointments during the day and like the laid back atmosphere. Nice staff. Enjoy an adult beverage too

This place is a restaurant/coffee shop where you can perfectly grab a home made coffee or home made cake (recommend the chocolate one) which are very delicious and seat to chat for hours with your friends without being bothered. This place is on Westheimer street close to the montrose area and attracts local artists, painters, photographers and media people with... More

I visited this place with my cousins and I asked for a mocha latte, and actually I'm not a coffee fan but it was delicious, super good, much better than any other coffee in Mc Donald's or anywhere, so if you are in Houston TX stop there and enjoy of there delicious coffee and it's served with two incredible biscuits

The coffee and home made pancakes are amazing. You can order whole wheat pancakes with fruit. Mexican breakfast is great. Nice place to visit for breakfast.

This has been my all-time favorite restaurant in Houston for about the last 10 years. There is ample (free) parking and a semi-private patio where you can relax and simultaneously contemplate the hustle and bustle of lower Westheimer. Empire's food is consistently good and is well priced, with new pasta, salad, sandwiches and soup specials daily. Prices have gone up... More

I try to catch breakfast here every time I come to town. They have a lot of really delicious options. For a change I tried the gingerbread waffle and loved it! Sometimes there is a long line but it is well worth the wait. They have a very nice patio. Perfect place to chill with your friends or just sit... More

I got the whole wheat pancakes with bananas on top. It was super yummy. I liked that they had the whole wheat option. I also got the herb roasted potatoes. They were pretty good too. Once I added some salt, I was pretty pleased with them. If I lived in the Houston area I would totally go back again. Unfortunately,... More
