Solid Italian in Rice Village

Only the second time I have tried Prego and it is outstanding. Lots of great Italian restaurants in Houston but my latest dinner was a huge stand out. Prego Ravioli with a Texas vodka sauce was spot on with flavor and portion. Had an excellent salad starter that was filled with fresh greens and cheese. Wine selection by the glass... More

Great and busy restaurant with a good menu and a superb wine list. My husband also enjoyed their grappa. We both had ravioli and although the sauces were wonderful, the pasta was a little thick and hard. Desserts were very tasty. Quite noisy, but happy noise.

I met a friend in Houston for dinner and we had an amazing meal at Prego. We chose from the menu that results in a donation to the local food bank. We began with a Caprese salad that had a delicious sauce made with roasted tomatoes. Then we had Spaghetti Carbonara which was beautifully presented and the best I've ever... More

So upset that I didn't know about this place during the 4 years that my son attended Rice University!!! We started with an Italian wine (as suggested by the wine expert at the bar) and a Caesar salad. The salad wasn't my favorite but the entrees made up for it! I had the Parmesan crusted snapper special & my husband... More

Consistently excellent. Not traditional Italian; more eclectic. Lots of good things on the menu. Always good choice of fresh fish. Delicious pastas too. Service is usually good but can depend on who you get. Do not expect a quiet dinner; the noise level here can be deafening.

I've been going to Prego for more than 20 years and am finally writing a review. It's perhaps the best Italian in Houston. They do charge, but it's worth the quality. My favorite dish has always been the Ravioli d'Anitra (duck ravioli). Service is good, the setting is nice and upscale. Food quality is very good.

We came with a large group (16). The restaurant was very accommodating. The bread baskets were very good. My husband and I split a dinner salad which worked out to be the perfect size for 2. I ordered the Pollo Martellato. The food was fresh and flavorful, but I thought it was a little pricey. It's definitely a great choice if... More

We had lots of other options but stumbled into this one. Thought we would just take a flyer and we struck gold. Service was excellent, prices were very reasonable and food was outstanding. We each had something different. The pollo ripeone, lasagna, spaghetti and veal were all incredible. It's a bit crowded and noisy and it's not high end but... More

We had arrived to celebrate a birthday dinner with the whole family. While waiting for the last arrival we were generously helped by our server with bread and drinks. The ordering process was quite easy but I would suggest that the value per $ was not equitable. some dishes were in the mid $20's and had little food while others... More
