italian can't disappoint....

Prego is a classic, upscale restaurant. Excellent service and good food. Some dishes can be expensive, as was the bison I ordered without asking the cost. $48 was a surprise on the bill at the end of the evening! Good but not that good.

We dropped in for a quick bite. The service was great as we were approached immediately. I ordered a crab avocado salad which was perfect with tomatoes and grilled onion strings which complimented the flavors. My wife had a chicken sald which was also very well done. We have been here many times and it never fails to please

Prego is a busy restaurant in Rice Village - a nicer Italian place than D'Amico's, which is more casual. We enjoyed their sangria which was loaded with fruit though it was pricey at $24 / pitcher. Their portabello arugula salad was excellent as well, and the mushrooms were very fresh and well cooked. They use Texas waygu beef for their... More

Two of us dined here for lunch and it was super. The service was outstanding and the specials were extensive. We started with two salads, the prego and the tricolore which were both very good. Then two entrees, one of the specials...grouper Italian style and gluten free pasta (made in house)penne alla caprese. Both were very good. We would definitely... More

We were at a meeting at Rice and picked this place based upon reviews. It was very crowded but the agreed to fit us in. Shoehorn is perhaps a better term. We wound up sitting right in the aisle that all the servers and customers walk through and it was not the most comfortable setting. Still, if the food had... More

The food here was great! As an app, I got the Caprese salad - it had exactly the right amount of spice with it - some sort of dressing - it was delicious! I ordered the Ravioli - phenomenal as well - not to mention the bread and olive oil. The olive oil did have raw garlic in it -... More

This was our second time dining at Prego. The first time was great! Tonight our waiter could not remember our order and several dishes were not correct.. The wait time from salads to entrees was way too long- over an hour. My husband wanted to go here to get a specific dish that after ordering it, was told it was... More

But if you can't be Italian, then eat Italian. At Prego. I have been eating there for thousands of years, and have never had a meal that wasn't great. Try the veal, the pasta dishes made from scratch, or the fish. And don't forget the appetizers and salads. Everything on the menu is great. The wine list changes a lot,... More

We recently enjoyed dinner with friends at Prego Italian Cuisine restaurant. Our waiter gave us excellent service, very attentive. I would describe the setting as intimate but not crowded. Three of the 4 of us had the pumpkin crusted red snapper with butternut squash which was delicious! Their Mista salad was a good addition to our meal. I would certainly... More

I reserved the Wine Room for a private dinner for 6 people. Hidden behind the kitchen. Great location, wide choice of wines and food, top notch service. Room could probably fit 10, but 6 worked well.
