Cafe Pita on Richmond

I've taken guests to the Cafe Pita twice this week. Each time the food and the service was out of this world. I had the Pirjan both times because it is wonderful beyond description.

The neat in the gyro was super tender and very flavorful. The bread and hummus as also pretty good. every time that we have gone, the place doesn't seem to be hurting for business. Its a nice treat to get away from the traditional dishes and try something that isn't very ordinary.

If you are looking for something different and authentic, try this place. I liked their sardine dish with rice.

Great food, lots of healthy options, good prices. The chevapi and stuffed sweet peppers are my favorites. The goulash is good at the original location. There are a lot of options when dining out in Houston, but if you want a good meal at a good price in a relaxed and friendly environment, make sure you stop by.

Never had Bosnian cuisine before. I will have it again. The lamb was amazing and tender. Allegedly cooked for hours in a clay pot. I recommend it! Everyone was happy with their food. Service was a bit slow, but this is not a short order/fast food restaurant. Worth your time and money; your taste buds will thank you.

This is my second time to Cafe Pita but first time to this location on Richmond. Near impossible to find in the dark with very poor lighting. Drove past twice. Both locations are not particularly attractive inside or out. HOWEVER, the food makes up for it. My son ordered so I can only describe the dishes to you. Bean soup... More

The food is delicious and very authentic. The atmosphere is quaint and the service is attentive. The prices are very reasonable. We always enjoy the Meza appetizer, the oxtail and stuffed pljeskavice entrees and the palacinci dessert. Be aware it is BYOB.

The Birjan (lamb shank) slow roasted in clay pots is my favorite. Their stuffed peppers, pizzas and other Bosnian dishes are also excellent. Start off with some hummus and eggplant dip to go with their fresh baked Bosnian bread. BYOB favorite bottle of wine, as they don't have a liquor license and don't charge a corkage fee. Regulars come back... More

This is a quaint place in the Galleria and the food is quite good. The portions are large, so you might split a plate. Savory food - the lamb shank is great. The star of every plate has got to be the rice. Sounds funny? Sure, but wait until you taste it. Absolute yum. Stuffed peppers should not be missed... More

Great food every time I come. Just like when I lived in Bosnia. Meat and Potatoes culture served in an authentic nature in Houston.
