Overall, we are very demanding when it comes to Sushi. Since it was our first visit at Uchi, we opted for their 6 course testing menu. It was nothing but amazing. Their complimentary bowl of Brussels Sprouts was surprisingly exceptional since I usually don't order that in a restaurant. At the end it was the best Brussels sprouts we ever... More

Uchi, the Houston location of the Austin landmark, is one of the best restaurants anywhere in America. Delicious, unique sushi and sashimi but more! Creative new Japanese cuisine that will blow away every diner. The only drawback to Uchi is that you may need to bring a forklift full of money to pay your bill. Uchi may also be the... More

I was in Houston for a business trip and came here on a Friday night with several coworkers and no reservation. The wait was not bad, we had a cocktail on the patio and then we got seated earlier than expected. This was by far the best meal we had in Houston, and one of my new favorite sushi restaurants!... Located in the heart if Houston's food scene, Uchi is everything you expect. We had to make a reservation almost a month in a advance, but it was well worth it. An overwhelming menu was easily explained by our very polite waiter who had great suggestion about items and amounts... Trust them, they know what they are doing! Food was... More

I have been wanting to go here after seeing Paul Qui on Top Chef and I was not disappointed. The food is excellent, some of the best I've ever had! Definitely order a few things to try and experience. I went with my boyfriend and we got 2-3 items each and shared and everything was so flavorful and delicious. The... More

This is the best all-around meal I've ever had, and you don't have to be a huge Japanese or raw food person to appreciate it. I recommend doing the chef's tasting so you get a feel for all the great food they have to offer. The brussel sprouts, Walu Walu, and fried chicken are all amazing. Best brussel sprouts ever... More

I have now visited this restaurant twice. Both times the experience was outstanding. Both times I took the tasting menu and loved it. The restaurant is very popular, and if you can get a seat then you will enjoy this restaurant. It is worth noting that there is always a chance to get a seat. I have opted to turn... More

Houston is a culinary wasteland if you do not eat beef. Uchi (mothership in Austin) is a refreshing alternative. Japanese fusion, but at the same time true good old nigiri sushi. Go early, sit at the bar. It is lively and always an experience with the chefs. Food is superb, see the photos (speak for themselves). If Tripadvisor would allow... More

Jar jar duck? Japanese small plates? Perfect sushi? What a combination of robust flavors with the maverick style that is becoming the Houston food scene. Perfect service combined with a great wine (usuall difficult with sushi and other Japanese fare). Settled in Montrose, possibly the heart of the Houston food revolution.
