An interesting menu, but the quality has slipped of late. Somehow it is not quite as tasty as when they opened.
We went to Zelko Bistro for brunch while visiting friends in Houston. The service was excellent. We all were very happy with our food selections. The mimosas and bloody Mary's were quite good. Would love to try it for dinner sometime.
I finally got around to eating at Zelko recently. A friend and I met up for brunch. We ordered the short ribs, chicken and waffles, and the fried pickles. The fried pickles had the right amount of crunchiness from the breading and from the pickle. The short ribs easily came apart and it was paired well with the polenta. I... More
Friends and I had traveled to Houston for a performance of Wicked. We had eaten a big lunch but knew we had to eat something or risk the sound of our hungry stomachs overpowering the music. We had been shopping in the Heights and quickly found Zelko. What a find. Between the six of us we ordered 3 entrees. The... More
I tried this restaurant for the first time for lunch with a friend. We each had a different salad, sadly, I have forgotten the names, but mine contained lox and smoked pecans (I asked for the bacon to be removed). The presentation knocked my socks off. We were celebrating a birthday, so having such a lovely presentation make our casual... More
The unassuming little cottage house that is the home of Zelko Bistro is located on 11th Street in the Heights. Only one disabled parking spot in front but lots of parking behind. Unusual collection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees are offered and the menu I am told changes at times. Service is excellent and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary and really enjoyed the food and people watching. The food was really good and not too pricey. The portions left us full but not overly stuffed. They have a nice selection of wines and beers to boot.
I really like the menu here. There is a comfort food emphasis an updated twist. Crop salad was perfect. Great crabcakes. Dessert is very good as well. Good people watching and nice atmosphere. An asset to the neighborhood.
This place was awesome. We went for lunch after our couple's massage at The Petite Retreat (so close, we even walked!) Great wine list
Zelko's is constantly busy because of the quality food which is prepared in such a way that it's hard to imagine how anyone could not find something they just absolutely loved. Don't miss this one if you're in the area. You most likely will have to wait for a little while but it's worth it.
