Welcome friends. The Phoenix on Westheimer is formerly known as the Firkin and Phoenix. Firkin Die-Hards will always call it the Firkin. Many of you have noticed the cosmetic changes that came with the name change. It's the still same great bar, owners and staff. For those who have never stopped in, come and make it your home away from home. NOW BREWING! - As of January 14, 2015, the Phoenix became a brewpub. We started selling our Kinfolk (Kolsch style) beer on February 17, 2015. Come checkout the latest changes to the pub and sample our house made beer! Opened in December 2006, The Phoenix is a neighborhood pub with a relaxed and jovial atmosphere. We want to be your home away from home, a welcoming place to meet your friends for a pint, some fine food and a good time. We offer a wide selection of bottled and draught beers on tap as well as wines and cocktails. Our extensive menu includes traditional pub favourites such as fish'n'chips, shepherd's pie and bangers and mash, as well as burgers and salads. We also provide a number of different ways to unwind, from darts, billiards and ping pong. For you sports fans, we have 12 LCD TVs throughout the pub, as well as 4 projectors for those big games.

Great sports bar with good food

This is a particularly good spot for a late bite. I love their chicken fried chicken, burgers and chicken quesadilla, but everything is good and cooked to order. Reasonable prices for the beers and house wines. It is a sports bar/pub, so be prepared for some noise on occasion.

We were just driving on Westheimer street in a community called Montrose in downtown Houston tx , it was one of the only few Resturant/ Sports Taverns open on New Years!! We walked in the door and was greeted with a huge welcome, the place has a warm cozy feeling with sports decor, and lots of TV's and a beautiful... More

I go for the fish n chips and sometimes for the appetizers. Noisy, often crowded with sports fans watching on multiple tvs. Pretty loud. Beer specials for beer drinkers. Full bar. Pub atmosphere. Friendly staff. Not top of my list, but I do like their fish n chips and sweet potato fries.

We've been frequenting the Phoenix on Westheimer for over 7 years! And, we don't even live in H-Town! That's how great this restaurant/sports bar/neighborhood hang-out is. It's important to so many people: home of watch parties for the alumni of colleges, not only just the ones located in Texas! Rugby, baseball, trivia nights - you name it - you'll find... More

The Phoenix is well located on Westheimer near Lamar Junior High School. Parking on side and back of building is free--No Valet. Varied menu and great selection of draft beers including those made on site. Waitress Heysee is very polite and friendly. Food exceptionally good and fresh tasting. We will return for sure.

I love to go to The Phoenix to watch sports or just for a great beer and pub food. They have great Fish & Chips. It's open late, which I often need. The wait staff has always been wonderful

Fantastic Irish Pub! Always a popular place to go, and is absolutely packed for any sporting event. The fried pickles are great even though they are fried pickle spears rather than fried pickle chips. I also have had the Firkin Burger which is amazingly good. Also great fish and chips as well as buffalo tenders. They have a great happy... More

A very crowded, loud and energetic atmosphere, just right for viewing the World Cup. The service was excellent especially when taking in account the large rowdy crowd. The appetizers chosen were hot pretzels and calamari. Both were well prepared and tasty. A very enjoyable experience.

Now renamed Phoenix on Westheimer, this Houston pub/restaurant is a popular hangout for locals looking for some good food and a plentiful and varied beer supply. Its casual atmosphere, good number of televisions, and outdoor patio make it a nice place to visit when you want some tasty pub food, beer, and televised sports entertainment. I visited Phoenix on Westheimer... More

This is my favorite bar in Houston, theres an great game-friendly inside full of comfortable booths and an outside patio that is relaxing. They also had some really fun world-cup events. I had been on a mission to find good pub food, in particular fish adn chips and couldn't find it anywhere until I came here! This fish and chips... More
