I was lucky enought to discover this gem in the middle of the Rice University area one year ago. Back then I was thrilled with the food, service and atmosphere. I have to admit that one year later, I am even MORE impressed with it all. Matt, who unfortunately was not present the day we went, made sure we were... More

What started out as a great evening went downhill once food arrived. I ordered the filet mignon and substituted the pepper corn sauce instead of the blue cheese sauce. Entree arrived with blue cheese sauce. Waiter took the item back and brought it back relatively soon (meat was ordered medium well). It seems they just wiped off the blue cheese... More

This was a wonderful dining experience. The patio is wonderful when the weather is pleasant. We started with a bowl of Spinach soup. It was delicious! Bread and butter were brought out. Also very good. We ordered a 1/2 pitcher of wine for $10 which gave us each a glass and a half. Again, very nice. I ordered the Chicken... More

we just happened upon this restaurant in Rice Village. We didn't have reservations AND it was bastille day but still they managed to squeeze us in. Delightful ambiance and the staff was so helpful. The owner even seated us himself and introduced us to his family. Food delicious and moderately priced. Will definitely go again and bring friends.

Arrived late for dinner (about 9:45) and still eager to seat us and serve dinner. Food was wonderful, service was equally as good. We are a bit of food snobs from Chicago and have to say that this place exceeded our expectations on all fronts; quality of food, service and ambiance. If you get the chance to stop, you will... They had interesting sounding dishes, and the ambience of the outdoor seating was decent, but that was about it. Service was slow: the bread arrived after the main course, and the wine we ordered arrived even later. The portion sizes were very different, and my portion was quite small. They were friendly and apologetic, but continued to be slow, even... More

The food is awesome! The service was top rate. Met the owner who was very friendly and helpful to explain the specials. They were out of Boeuf Bourguignon ( the chef was marinating the beef for tomorrows' Bourguignon.) We plan on coming back for that tomorrow.

This hidden gem is a charming bistro right by Rice Univ. It serves delicious food, has a wonderful manager, and fine service. I had the roast fish and nutella crepes for dessert. It is worth the time trying to find a place to park, for a romantic dinner for two.
