The social opposite of down town Houston!

Spending a couple of nights in downtown Houston and beyond the high rise office blocks, a bit of park and a green bike lane, there isn't a whole lot to get excited about. That includes restaurants! I have drunk a lot of beer in a lot of bars in the past few years and this place is among the best that I've been to. At a guess I would say there were around 40-50 beers on draft which can be an overwhelming amount whether you are a beer enthusiast or not, which I very much am.... More

So we went to the Flying Saucer with friends to drink craft beer. What a variety of beers! The bartenders are VERY knowledgeable, to the point if there is a beer you like, they can tell you another type that is similar that you would like. The atmosphere was nice, and it's a cool, quaint place to go!

We found a place that was open late and so we stepped in. It was nice but a bit crowded. There is a lot space to at least once we found a seat, we didn't feel as crowded. The food was good and we had a good stay. Our waitress was super knowledgeable about the meal selections as well as... More

Great beer, good pub food and a unique atmosphere. The food is not gourmet by any means, but hits the spot. The beer is the reason to come here!

All the waitstaff has to go to 'Beer College' so they really know their stuff. It's amazing how much they know about so many different beers. Kudos to them. Some of the best wings ever, order the Mojo. Yummy giant warm pretzel, have it with queso and spicy mustard on the side. BTW, join their club, drink #200 beers (3... More

In Houston with a colleague, we were looking for a place with some atmosphere that served food. We settled on the Flying Saucer as walking past it looked quite full - a good enough sign we thought. There was one table left downstairs (there is also seating upstairs above the bar) so we sat down and were promptly seen by... More

No loud music so you can enjoy conversation and lunch. Large portions. HUGE beer list to fit any taste. Our server, Veronica, was a true gem! Will return next time I'm in town.

Huge beer selection. The food was typical bar food. We ordered humus and chili. The service was average.
