Excellent Steak House

Food was excellent. I have been to other Old Hickory's at other Gaylord facilities, and this one did not disappoint. Wait staff very accommodating. Menu is fantastic. Don't miss the mac and cheese with lobster!

Try the chili pepper martini. Will be your new fave! Service was amazing and the family style sides were relish!!!! Truffle fries are a treat and hard to find in our hometown, so we enjoyed this meal very much!

Our four-some enjoyed a quiet and spectacular dinner at the Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord Texan Hotel. We arrived early so it wasn't very crowded and the ambiance was inviting and quiet. Estelle surpasses the definition of customer service. She is the consummate professional. She was attentive, helpful and gracious. Thank you so much Estelle! From appetizers to dessert,... More

Everything about this restaurant from the minute you walked in the door is absolutely wonderful. The food is top notch and the service is friendly and very professional. My wife and I always eat here when we stay at Gaylord Texan.

My toes tap when I eat, and from start to finish, my feet were banging out Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The salads, appetizers, steak and weird little ice cream cone laying on the side where exactly like I had hoped for the evening: something new, memorable, delicious and unique. The server was personable, attentive and with just the right... More

If you want to eat a quiet dinner at the Gaylord Resort - this is the restaurant. My husband and I were attending a conference at a different hotel in Grapevine but had dinner 'off' from our meeting. So, we decided to 'check out' the Gaylord and eat dinner at the resort (we'll be back with our family for a... More

Understand, the meal was good and the service as well...just for the price it was not even close to worth it. Better steaks to be had (at this price point) at III Forks, Pappas SteakHouse or Bob's Steak and Chop House. The ambience was very nice and again, the food was good (not great)...just way too expensive for this food... More

We had a party of twelve in this restaurant which is a part of the Marriott Gaylord resort. The steak is the thing here. We tried the variety of seafoods they offer as appetizers, and I would say that this is not one of those restaurants that does everything well – the crab cakes were average, the scallops were average... This restaurant is tucked down and in a corner away from all the noise and openness of the hotel so that was very nice. Extremely good wine menu, and knowledgable wine sommelier. We split a lobster bisque and they gave us two bowls. Steaks were very flavorful. As with most restaurants they sides or shared, and with only two people... More

I agree with other reviewers that the place is pricy. $215 for three of us, with steaks, salad and side dish but no drinks and no desserts. the atmosphere is very nice and our steaks were excellent. the sides were very tasty too as was the salad. with an À la carte menu, the meal price can add up quickly....
