Some things are alway good

About every 6 months I keep going back to this particular El Fenix. Some things are outstanding others just don't cut it. Today we had the puffed Tacos the were grease, cold and terrible. On the other hand we also had the Spinach Enchiladas and they were excellent. Our server Rudy was good but... read more

We should have known when we had to wait 10+ minutes because there was no hostess present to leave. We finally got a table and things went down hill. Our drinks were never once re-filled for us - we had to stop other waiters and ask. The food was ok, but for what you get it was very pricey. I... More

WOW have they gone down the tubes. Used to be great but not so much anymore. Service was horrible. Food barely warm. Had to go get someone. Just a terrible experience since the family sold the place. The one downtown Dallas is still great but forget this one. You will be glad you went somewhere else.

Visited last night and it was not very busy! Received excellent customer service and the food was great. I had cheese enchiladas, they are so yummy! They have specials almost every night it would appear so it is worth visiting if you are wanting decent Tex-Mex. Dinner service is fast and the food tastes fresh. They had a large group... More

It's been many years since I last ate at an El Fenix restaurant and what a pleasant surprise it was to find the high quality and standards they built their reputation on remains unchanged. Some 30 members of my family gathered here for lunch in the private dining area, and we experienced really great Tex-Mex food and were provided first-rate... More

We were part of a group of 20 people who descended upon this El Fenix restaurant on a Saturday night. I was very impressed with the service that we received, with all food items delivered promptly, drinks refilled regularly, and the food was quite good. Everyone in our party was quite satisfied by the end of the evening. Kudos to... More

The shrimp cocktail is very hot, not enough shrimp; the shrimp quesadilla was very good; friend ordered chicken fried steak, although the waiter cautioned that American cuisine wasn't there specialty (Jose). She ended up sending it back for the quesadilla. Would dine here again. Heard the enchiladas are very good.

The food was really good. And considering my daughter in law is a Mexican food picky picky eater. Her mom's is the best. She liked it and would go back.

My daughter did not care for her entrée so the waiter brought her something else. She didn't care for that, either. My food was alright but nothing special. They did bring out complimentary, very small sopapillas, to celebrate Independence Day, which she did like. :) The manager was quite rude in asking why my daughter didn't like her meal. Lots...
