High End Resort in a Little Town

We stumbled along this place while visiting the area for my wife's birthday. We called over the phone looking for a nice pace to eat, and at first the name fooled us. We were unsure when driving down the back roads, but make no mistake, this is a high end resort. Come to find, this is a well... read more

Rough Creek Lodge is a very nice place, but bring your checkbook. It is very High end, but the food, service and view is outstanding. It is about 15-20 miles from the city limits of Glen Rose on the west side of town. You can enjoy this place with family, friends, and business...nice pool and spa area and also hunting... More

My party didn't stay at the lodge, only ate dinner in the restaurant. Gorgeous setting on the Texas prairie, REALLY off the beaten path. Comfortably elegant dining room, focal point a huge stone fireplace, beautiful view of the sunset, patrons ranged from families with children, groups of guys just in from hunting, to couples on a romantic date. It's pricey... More

We ate dinner and breakfast at Rough Creek Lodge and both were amazing! The dinner was one of the best meals I have ever had and there were plenty of choices. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, so it meant a lot to us for the meal to be special. The views from the dining room were beautiful. The breakfast... More

I enjoyed a late lunch with my mother and aunt at this hidden gem.I was charmed by the rustic ranch like setting of this fabulous lodge. It was too late for lunch. Dinner service hadn't started but not to worry, they set a table. A lovely selection of local wines, I had pizza and a wine made in Lubbock Texas.... More

Excellent choice, quality and service. What more is there to say. The surroundings are absolutely amazing and retiring to the balcony will a cool drink to watch the sunset was amazing.

We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here and everything was fabulous! The breakfast buffet leaves you full for the whole day with great selections of freshly made pancakes, belgian waffles and muffins as well as eggs and breakfast meats. For lunch we tried the burgers, steak and eggs, and salad with grilled chicken and there was dried fruit for us... More

We have had several opportunities to visit Rough Creek. We've spent some nights there in the lodge as well as many meals. It is always a great experience anytime you go. This last visit was for our 10th anniversary dinner. The staff, as always, creates an atmosphere of relaxation and enjoyment. If you make dinner reservations, make sure you arrive... More

We stayed at the lodge and the package included dinner and breakfast. I'm not a fan of 'fine dining' with snooty wait staff and food that's really not that good. However, Rough Creek was so different. The restaurant interior was very impressive with a nice view of the lake along wiith prime western music which fit in so well. More... More

This has excellent audiovisual capabilities for presentations, but is very expensive. The restaurant charges equivalent to the priciest restaurants in Fort Worth without matching the same quality. It has excellent facilities and guides with dogs for bird hunting (pheasant, chakar, quail) They have been pen raised and are reluctant to fly, since the policy is "if it flies, it dies".... More
