Since this diner was recommended on Triple D by Guy Fieri it was on my list of stops while traveling south through Texas. It's only a mile or so off I-35 and easy to find. We arrived mid afternoon and were greeted by a friendly server who immediately seated us. The diner is sparkling clean and has a retro feel... More

We went on a Sunday morning and thought it would be packed but it was full but no wait. the diner is clean modern and spacious. It has a Mel's diner feel but updated and retro at the same time. OMG! They squeeze the OJ fresh, super fresh, I had forgotten what fresh OJ tastes like. the food has a... More

Both times I have gone were for breakfast and it is always packed! The wait is reasonable for the interesting location and good food. The only problem I had was finding a hair in my food once-- luckily (or not?) it was at the bottom of the plate, so it didn't kill my appetite.

Georgetown seems to be yet another small Texas hill country city (such as Kerrville, Fredricksburg, Gruene, etc) that has been commercialized in the last few years and dotted with antique shops, wine tasting bars and diva bling-bling jewelry shops. Sometimes in these towns you can find an established restaurant that is really good or has some specialty they are famous... More

We went to the Monument Cafe for lunch. We had a group of five women and ordered a variety of food including soup, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Everything was excellent. The diner atmosphere is fun and our server was pleasant and friendly. This is a nice, relaxing place to lunch before touring the old town section of Georgetown. I'd return... More

We always make a plan to dine at the Monument Cafe whenever we are in Georgetown. The food is excellent and the 'classy hippie diner' atmosphere is just our cup of tea! Before or after you eat, don't miss a stroll through their gardens and farmer's-market-style store. The only thing I would warn about is, it can be REALLY CROWDED!!... More

The veggie burger will make you gag. It looks like raw hamburger meat and tastes awful. The vegetables are all either potatoes or assorted grease fried selections. Ate here some years back and the vegetables were terrific. No more.

Order the strawberry lemonade which is homemade and incredible. Everything i have had here is delicious, including the homemade potato chips. The kale salad is a favorite while my daughter enjoys the chicken sandwich but made grilled instead of fried. The service is always top notch here. Old school service. This restaurant is a real treat, try the market also... More

Their old breakfast menu offered more choices, especially for omelets. Despite the large staff, coffee refills are tardy due to the huge new space. The hash browns are okay but I wish they offered fresh home fries, finished under the cheese melter, and/or potatoes O'Brian. I ordered a sandwich once and it reminded me of school cafeteria fare, thin on... More

Sangria was fabulous and the fried goat cheese and peach chutney appetizer is a must! Service was excellent!! Save room for their signature dessert, the Monument Pie--you'll be glad you did.
