We heard of The Monument Café on Diners Driveins and Dives. My mother and I made a special trip to Georgetown to check it out. What they advertise online is not the menu at the restaurant. She ordered the club sandwich ($10) & then if you want a side it is $4 for that. It is yet another $2.50 for... More

For locals, this is the most popular downtown eatery, for inapparent reasons other than locale, habit, and nostalgia. Very busy and noisy at mealtimes. The typical wait for seating is a least 20 min. at mealtimes; our wait for orders to be taken after the menu was presented was at least 10 min, with another 15-20 min until we were... More

Our out of town visitors wanted a casual American sit down served meal. We took them to Monument Cafe.We have only been there once in the last several years & were satisfied then. The Eggs Florentine were the best I have had. The other 3 diners had the Migas & loved them. Service was OK, but the food was great.

The food here is simple and, when possible, local. It is bounded on two sides by a vegetable garden and has a great farm market We continually hope to try the bier garten but our timing for that is continually wrong. Someday. Fresh squeezed lemonade (if you like it) should be mandatory. It is that good Fried chicken, pork loin,... More

My husband and I first heard about the Monument Cafe on the Food Network. Two of the dishes discussed on "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, were the King Ranch Casserole and the fried goat cheese.Neither of these dishes were on the new menu. When we first arrived we were told by a young man that our waitress was having problems... More

We have have stopped by several times to eat here. Like the feel of this place and food has been good. This time it was a miss and wanted to give a heads up on what not to order. I ordered the light chop steak with Mac and cheese. It looked and tasted like a nighthawk frozen dinner , expected... More

Love the shrimp cocktail on the appetizer menu --- worth the $$$, but some of the items are too expensive for the portions. Drinks are too high priced.

I am a Georgetown resident and I am embarrassed that a business like this exists in our town, It was my first experience and my last experience at this horrid establishment. Just had the worst dining experience of my life at the famed Monument Cafe in Georgetown, Texas. My daughter wanted to have a birthday breakfast here this morning and... More

The nearby Candlewood Suite hotel we stayed overnight at did not offer a hot breakfast. No big deal because the Monument Café is very near (1.5 miles away) and offers a menu full of down home delicious entres. The eggs benedict were yummy yummy delicious. My family walked away were full and very pleased with their chosen breakfasts. Any visit... More

A beautiful café reminiscent of a by gone era where people frequented diners. Beautiful vintage lighting, classic seat your self diner, large glass display of fresh pies....our mouths were watering. We were told the wait would be an hour, which is not unusual to us, frequently dining in Houston on Fridays is an equally long wait. However, there were empty... More
