Atmosphere is nice, but food is so-so

Went to eat with family. The service was excellent. Nicest staff you'll meet. The food was your standard fried seafood. I mean it's better than Long John Silvers, but nothing amazing. I had the fried catfish/oysters plate. I've never had oysters before and didn't really enjoy it. I think it... read more

The food was fantastic, I love the green sauce for the hush puppies. The food orders are large, and come with sides & salad. Great value with a relaxed atmosphere.

Fish were good. Sides were as a second thought without much imagination. Went with a group so would not have gone otherwise.

Took out of town friends here, they loved it. Atmosphere - walls are full of fun signs, sayings, and pictures to amuse you. Even the kids will enjoy some of them, and the older adults can explain what Burma Shave signs were back in the day. Food - It's not just a fried catfish parlour, although they do make great... My wife talked me into going to the Catfish Parlour tonight for dinner and it was the first disappointing meal we've had in some time. Check my reviews, I can think of only one other Poor rating that I have given. First the good. The Caesar salad bar was OK. Nothing great or fancy, but the lettuce was cold and... More

We dined here while visiting family in Georgetown. The fried catfish is served fresh and tastes good. They also serve unique hushpuppy sticks that are addicting. The waitstaff are very attentive and polite. We would definitely eat here again.

I've visited the austin one several times for lunch and enjoyed the buffet. Went to thus location today was amazed by the money they put into the outside decor (cuz austin looks run down). Go inside to see the same run down hole in the wall junk on the wall theme. Wait staff very friendly helpful and kind. But fish... More

Ate here tonight for the first time in four years and having done that I remember why it's been four years. The food is okay, nothing special, but expensive for what it is and doesn't compare to other local places for price and quality. For fried catfish you can't beat Jack Allen's catfish appetizer both in quality and quantity. You... More

They got my family order right. The food was simple, but well prepared and the servings were just right for a family of 4. Catfish and fries are good choices!

Tried it twice or 3 times awhile ago. Most everything was fried. I had ordered a chicken fried steak. I know one should not order anything but fish in a fish restaurant. There were no mashed potatoes just fries and brown gravy with the fries. Who ever heard of that? I've heard it changed managers or cooks quite awhile ago,... More
