We recently had brunch (from the breakfast menu) 3 mornings. Each meal was extremely good. The ingredients were fresh, the food was hot and the service was very good. Over the 3 meals we ordered the following items: crab cakes with poached eggs and hollandaise (2), smoked chicken hash, grilled salmon with poached eggs, carne guisada and eggs and the... More

The Sunflower Cafe was recommended by my daughters doctor who visits there frequently. She advised that it was a favorite of the locals. Located just off the beaten path, it was nice to get away from the tourist traps. We arrived for brunch and it was very crowded but we didn't wait long for a table. We sat on the... More

A friend recommended this place to me when she heard we were going to Galveston. The Sunday brunch was very good. I had salmon and eggs, which I'd never tried before. I would definitely have them again. My husband had the Big Breakfast, which was great. Service was a little slow (in getting food to us), but the place was... More

When in a different location, we usually check with the locals to decide where to go for the best in restaurants. "Sunflower Bakery and Café" was suggested as a good restaurant for breakfast. We were immediately impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The restaurant is not a large building. It connects to an antique store. Checking the menu, the... More

I heard about this place from a woman while downstairs at my hotel. We decided to try it and were happy we did. It was delicious and reasonably priced. I had the oyster eggs benedict with a strawberry mimosa. The service was excellent and they really make it feel like the neighborhood bakery you want to know and love.

I have experienced sunflower many times and the food is good but the sound in the place is so loud that the atmosphere is unpleasant. service is fair .If you are a healthy eater and want heart healthy with very low fat, the choices are limited

My wife and I were set to tour the Moody Mansion, but had to come back after lunch. The gentleman at the Mansion suggested the Sunflower Café, which we did. If you are a fan of down home style cooking combined with a fantastic bakery this is your place. Reading some of the other reviews was puzzling. They must have... More

This was our second trip to the Sunflower Bakery and Cafe. As on our first trip the bakery, breads and meal itself were very good when taken as a whole. Our group had called ahead and reserved an entire room as we were expecting about 30 folks for dinner. Unfortunately the establishment was totally unprepared. We had one waiter for... More
