This is a great place to enjoy breakfast in Galveston. Very nice meals in a relaxing environment. It is located in an old building.

One of the best that We have had in a while. Very nice atmosphere. The service was great, the people extra extra friendly. We were very hungry and still could not finish our meals! A must do while in Galveston.

I I've tried a couple of entrees but always go back to the Bread Pudding French Toast. Very tasty with the fresh fruits on top. No syrup necessary!! Good coffee but to-go cups very iffy.

Sunflower bakery and cafe has always been one of my favorites! They are a long standing island venue where locals stroll to the shop and tourists find it! Great food great menu and always a great treat!

Four of us with disparate selections. Cajun red snapper, Texas blue crab cakes, seafood salad (shrimp and scallops), and chicken fried steak. All prepared (tasted) well, presented well, with excellent mashed potatoes and vegetables. Even had enough to take home two boxes for lunch the next day. The two of us that chose from the dinner menu got wonderful bread... More

When we came to the Sunflower last summer we had a very good experience. The food lived up to the reviews as did the service. Not so this visit. I ordered the smoke half chicken with vegetables and mashed potatoes. My wife ordered an Italian sandwich with pumpernickel bread. I was brought a quarter chicken which our waitress insisted was... One of the best places to eat on the island. Highly recommend the tomato soup with grilled cheese! Also anything from their bakery is delicious. They are open for just breakfast and lunch and dinner. Call ahead to see what the specials are.

After a short hiatus from this great local eatery we visited the Sunflower for a great Sunday lunch. On spot! Short wait but we'll worth it! Did a lunch special stuffed shrimp with "real" crab....Wow! Reubens sandwich was also out of the park! Huge menu and I can't wait to get back and do the crab cakes with eggs....I'm thinking... More

This is not on the seawall. This is not a tourist café. This is not pretentious or loud or 'happening'. This is one of the best off-the-beaten-path restaurants in Galveston or anywhere. The food is so good, I've never had a bad bite of anything. We have been so happy with the food and service every single time we've been.... More
