Since this old fashioned sweet shop is on the top of TA's rating, we decided to skip dessert at our lunch place and came here. We were not disappointed at all. It felt like we were visiting to a past time where food and desert are made from real milk and real sugar. I'm still struggling to understand why some... More

I love this store! There is more than enough to satisfy your sweet tooth! Ice cream, malts, floats, fountain sodas and so much candy to choose from. The salt water taffy is really good, bought the banana, watermelon and strawberry (all delicious). The milk chocolate pecan royal sand dollars and the dark chocolate cashew clusters are excellent! We will definitely... More

We went here twice on our visit to Galveston. If you have a sweet tooth this place is amazing! So many candy options and they also have ice cream/ shakes. Will definitely be going here again when we go back to Galveston!

We so enjoyed our visit to this place. Very interesting how they make taffy. Even if you have seen it being made before, go see it again.

And even better, because now I can't eat sugar....so, what do you get there? I purchased some sugar free chocolates and they were the best I have had in some time. Eat them within a few days, though, because they're truly fresh and will lose some flavor and texture over time. My daughter enjoyed an ice cream cone, my mother... More

You can't go to Galveston without stopping at La Kings. Or at least we can't! Sometimes its the candy counter we are headed too, sometimes the Ice Cream. The Root Beer floats are a favorite as well. It is ALWAYS busy, so just be patient, the atmosphere is great and the staff is super friendly!

If you like candy, ice cream, chocolate and salt water taffy, then this is the place for you. All their ice cream and candies are handmade and it shows. Everything I tried (which was a lot) was delicious. Their prices weren't bad either. I bought over a pound of salt water taffy for only $11. I could have stayed here... More
