I had to try a couple little treats the first time I visited this place and was amazed at how wonderful they were! I was so astonished that I went back the next day and got ice cream! The ice cream was an experience by itself! The scoops are ginormous! Completely amazing and would recommend anyone of any age to... More

We just stopped for a quick ice cream cone and wound up stuffed & happy. The service was quick & attentive; the portions were huge. One member of our party wanted a butterscotch milk shake (he hadn't been able to find one for years - and they could make it). Thoroughly good time.

If you are walking downtown Houston, a short stop by this location will ansolutely satisfy your urge for chocolate, fruit flavored candy, candy, ice cream or a cold drink. It is roomy and an "old time" atmosphere. Recommended!

The atmosphere here makes you feel like a little kid in the 1950's! My family and I loved this place. It is very large, and has so many choices of candy. They were making fresh taffy when we came in, and the employee was tossing candy at those of us watching. The taffy was amazing! We also purchased rock candy... More

This is by far the best place to get candy and milkshakes on the island. They have a wide selection of ice cream, milkshakes and home made chocolates and candies.

I had a bright idea to grab some candy for the road back home. I was half way home (about 150 miles into my trip) only to find out THE ORDER WAS WRONG. I emailed La Kings and 5 days alter Im STILL waiting for a reply. Customer Service stinks

Anyone will enjoy a stop for something sweet or a coffee here. Your teeth ache as you walk in the door...taffy, cases filled with candies, ice cream and more! We had a scoop of their ice cream and it was WONDERFUL! Kids will love it and the building and interior are original. Notice the steps you have to climb as... More

We love ending our days in Galveston by visiting La King's! No where can you get a Root Beer or Coke Float like what they have! And the candy......!!! Our grandkids go wild! We just like looking at some of the "old tyme" candy from our childhood! Brings back such memories!
