Delicious!

Do you have a sweet-tooth? If so, this is your place! Fudge, truffles, ice-cream, candy...they've got you covered! They gave me samples of any ice cream I wanted to try. They threw multiple freshly made Taffy candies to my children, and all workers were really pleasant, polite, and fast! Great... read more

We ordered hot white chocolate mochas and then saundered over to partake of some rocky road fudge. Very fresh! The coffee was also very hot and welcome on a February day. The history in this building speaks volumes and I love the old timey feel during our visit. A must go for a visit to Galveston's Strand District.

We ordered hot fudge sundaes and they were worth every penny. It will bring you back to your childhood. Don't miss this stop.

La King's is beloved by locals and tourists alike. The interior is a faithfully maintained ice cream parlor of yore - a long, marble counter, classic ice cream tables and chairs, and the well-worn wooden floors make me smile every time I walk in. It is hard to be anything but relaxed and happy. As an extra bonus, the extensive... More

I grew up going to this place as a child. It was fun to bring my son back here. All sorts of different candies. Coffee is great and lots of ice cream. It's worth the stop.

Love this place for a quick ice cream for the kids. And if you time it right, you can watch the taffy being made from scratch. Be sure to stay for the entire taffy making process as they toss samples out to everyone watching! Reason for the less than perfect rating is for the service at the ice cream counter.... More

Whilst in Galveston we came upon this great confectionery shop. It's 100 years old and has a great atmosphere. They sell a huge range of ice-cream and have a large sundae menu. They also make their own Taffy. We spent about 30 mins watching one of their staff make a 40lb batch. It was fascinating to see the old machines... More

This is what I think when I walk in the place. But oh, so amazing! There is a guy cutting taffy using an old-fashioned machine, and so many different flavors of ice cream, but I have to say that the candy takes it all! Every color, shape, and type you can think of! If you are missing a hard-to-find candy,... More

You just have to visit this place if you are in Galveston. The candy is amazing and the salt water taffy is very soft, and fresh. If you get to catch them making the taffy thats really cool, and look out they will throw some at you! It's an old building with very friendly people. A must if you are... More

In-house and commercially-made candies and an antique (and still working) taffy-pulling machine in this shop; they post demonstration times, and the taffy's yummy. There's also a soda fountain where you can order all kinds of ice cream treats, including house-made sodas. It's yummy and fun, and yeah, you can spend a lot of money in there if you let yourself,...
