Great ice cream and fun to watch them make sodas and milkshakes. Not to mention all the assorted candy to choose from and the taffy show.

Old time ice cream parlor with hand made salt water taffy. It's so fun to watch them make it if they're doing it while you're there. Unique candies, pretty story, and right on the strand so there's plenty to do.

I has an espresso/chocolate chip ice cream cone that was creamy goodness that can't be put into words. My husband ordered the dark chocolate covered potato chips and chocolate covered pretzels - they were divine! Also, we got to watch them pull taffy while we were there - it smelled so good!

Walking into La King's Confectionery is like taking steps back in time, to an old time soda fountain and ice cream parlor. This is a large confectionery with baked goods, candies, coffee, homemade taffy, and delicious ice cream treats. Very reasonable prices, and delightful family atmosphere. Treat yourself and your family to this wonderful place!

Handmade, hand-dipped. Lots of good flavors and generous serving. Kids loved it! They have plenty of other candy and sweets as well. A must try while you're in Galveston. Beware of the parking police in the Strand District --they're CRAZY about writing tickets. I even got one when I had paid!

Huge serving ice cream cones. Great milk shakes. Really yummy chocolates. What more can be said? We chose quite a few different sweets from the cases to take with us for later. My only complaint was how the restroom should've been clean. Seemed strange to have such a filthy restroom in a place that serves food.

We stopped in for ice cream but came away with a bag full of delicious saltwater taffy instead! It was so fun to watch them make the taffy in front of us and they even threw a piece out to everyone. Yum!!!

So I have been here twice and have to admit I have only gotten the fudge both times. The cookies and cream flavor is so good. I have the pumpkin one this time which was okay, but not the best. I also love the peanut butter one. You can't go wrong with PB fudge. They have tons of chocolates and... More
