Homemade fudge and ice cream

This is a must stop for our family when visiting the Strand. Their home made ice crea, coke or root beer float, sundaes, etc., are delicious. There is always a line but it usually moves quickly. Across the room homemade fudge is being made. It is sold among hundreds of kinds of hard candy and... read more

Best place to fun sweets. It's a must go every time. People are nice, food is quality. It takes all who enter back to the 1900's.

Cute shop. Tons of candy options! Fudge, chocolates, taffy. The ice cream was delicious. My husband got the banana walnut with double chocolate chip. I got the amaretto almond with espresso. It was so good and the staff was so friendly.

I love to visit here when I'm in Galveston. It's like stepping back in time. The ice cream is some of the best I've ever had; rich but not too sugary. It's fun to get a scoop and try some of the original flavors that they offer. I always have to pick up a few pieces of their taffy and... More

We visited Galveston during a trip through Texas. We also checked out The Strand. We were up for a good Espresso and we found it in La King's Confectionery. A really good, Italian Espresso. Check it out!

Oh all the candy! We had the ice cream though. We did a milkshake and they serve it in the metal container with the old style soda glasses. One milkshake was enough for 2 people. A Galveston institution.

This shop was really unique. We went twice during our 4 day visit to Galveston. It was like stepping back in time. The ice cream was home made and well, creamy, and we sat at a little indoor table while we ate. Although we didn't try any of the candy, it was fun to look at the huge variety they... More

So many choices of ice cream. The candy has candy from my childhood, and it brings back so many good memories.

If you have not been to this store you need to. Every time we are in the neighborhood I take my Wife. They have coffee, ice cream, chocolates, and even still make taffy in front of customers! Unique and fun place to visit.

I live on the Island and no holiday is complete without going to La Kings. From Saint Valentine's day to Mardi Gras and Easter to Christmas La Kings is a flash back to what I imagine is the perfect holiday. My wife can not enter the confectionary with out leaving with a bag of salt water taffy. The fist time... More
