An old fashioned candy store feel. Very busy & full of sweet yumminess. The ice cream is creamy and fresh. Got some candy to take home. Some employees seemed irritated & there isn't an organized system as to who helps who. Stand by the candy counter & wait for service. A nice find in Galveston & family friendly. Recommended.

This was right in the middle of the historical district. We had a shake and it was delicious. It was a little packed but the service was quick and it was nice and cool and on a hot summer day everyone thought ice cream was a good idea. It felt like you went back in time. Kids really enjoyed it.... More

We had ice cream. The cinnamon was delicious, the cookies and cream good but the mocha chip disappointing with frozen chips and no mocha flavor. Somewhat expensive for a scoop of ice cream.

This is a great confectionery! The decor and atmosphere takes you back to the early Twentieth Century and is full of charm along with great Ice Cream and Candy. This is one place you've got to stop in and try- don't be surprised there will be lines, especially during the summer months.

Don't miss this soda fountain if you go to Galveston. It's one of the only kid-friendly places we found left on the island. And great milkshakes, candies, chocolates. Kids loved the old-world feel of it.

It's an old fashion candy, ice cream shop! What more do you need? The ice cream guys even wear paper hats! Kid will love this! They let you taste as much as you like before deciding..great place!

Of course we go to La Kings every time we are at the Strand. It's the best place to get ice cream. There is an old fashioned soda fountain/ ice cream bar down one wall and candy on the other. It is not stroller friendly, so be prepared to carry your child. It is also mostly packed with rude, overheated... More

This is a really cute, quaint space that is a lot of fun to walk around and drool in! My son ordered a chocolate shake, which was fairly expensive ($7) but they give you a lot (approx. two tall glasses worth). My daughter and I each got a single-scoop cone of pistachio, both of which were really lacking in nuts,... More

Ice cream is very good and a huge selection of candy and chocolate. Very friendly place where everyone was helpful. Definitely kid friendly.
